Australia vs India Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - ODI Commentary
The target is a challenging one and it is going to be a real test for the Indian batters. The wicket did show signs of slowing up as the game progressed but it may just ease off under lights. Also if the dew sets in, Australia might just find themselves 20-30 runs short here. Join us in a while for the chase.
The Indian bowling looked out of sorts to begin with. They pacers were taken for runs at the start. The spinners who normally apply the breaks in the middle overs failed to do so. They though did extremely well to pull things back towards the end. Kuldeep finished with the most wickets as he had three to his name. Shami and Bumrah also fared well at the office. The rest though weren't quite upto the mark.
The Aussies though will still be pleased with their batting effort. They were led by their openers, Khawaja and Aaron Finch. The pair added 193-run with the right-hander falling 7 short of a ton, whereas, the left-hander scored his maiden ODI century. Maxwell then played a handy cameo and added yet another handy stand with Usman. When the two were batting 350 seemed possible. Australia though then lost their way. From 258 for 2 they slipped to 263 for 5 as their middle order hardly contributed anything. Cameos from Stoinis and Carey saw them go above the 300-run mark.
An excellent comeback from the Indians, they have not let Australia run away with the game here. For one moment it did seem that the Aussies would head into the break as clear favorites but it is somewhat even-stevens.

Ends by saying he is pleased with the runs he scored.
Australian skipper, Aaron Finch, says it is a pretty decent effort by his boys. Credits how they batted and also appreciates the new ball bowlers. He is working hard on his game and he is pleased with his effort today. Appreciates Khawaja's, Zampa's, Cummins' and Richardson's effort in this game.
Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, says they did well to pull back things towards the end and were quite optimistic about their chances of chasing this down. States that early wickets made their task very difficult. Adds they have lost early wickets in this series, something which has not happened to them a lot often, hopes they can improve that. Says he is very pleased with his knock. Ends by saying there might be some few changes in the next game but they will be playing with the same mentality.
For Australia, Pat Cummins had yet another decent time with the ball. Zampa was expensive but it was his wickets which won them the game. Jhye Richardson impressed one and all and justified his selection. Stay tuned for the presentation in a while...
Australia though did not let the lost momentum affect them as they came out all guns blazing with the ball. Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson were exceptional with the new ball as they dismissed the top order within Powerplay 1. Dhoni and Kohli then played themselves in and steadied the ship with a 59-run stand. However, the former was dismissed just as he started to get going. Jadhav then came out and it was his partnership with Kohli which brought India back in the game and changed the momentum. The two added 88 in 75 balls and revived hopes in the Indian camp. However, just as the tide seemed to be turning in the hosts favor Zampa struck. Kohli though continued, he along with Vijay Shankar built yet another 45-run stand with the skipper getting to his ton. The two were going great guns but it was once again Zampa, who got rid of the Indian skipper. Shankar then along with Jadeja did try to fight but the task was a very difficult one and in the end the Indians fell short quite comfortably.
THE SERIES IS STILL ALIVE! Australia have managed to make it 2-1. A very convincing performance by them. After quite a few matches one cay say the Aussies have put up a good performance with both, bat and ball. They were inserted and their openers came to the fore adding a massive 193-run stand. Australia into the bowlers now. This is tossed up, around middle, Shankar goes for the slog sweep again. Hits it nicely but does not get the desired elevation. It goes towards the man at deep mid-wicket. Jhye Richardson there takes a good low catch. One though can question the shot as the runs needed per over was already hit in this one. However, Shankar must have thought another hit and the pressure would have eased big time. Had it come off, it would have been praised, it now has not and it is Australia's game to lose.
