England vs Australia Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - ODI Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 50.0ENG: 342/8
1-1 or 2-0? Seems more of the latter right now. Australia will need Short and Finch to fire and then one of the two to play a long innings, similar to Jason Roy. They will hope that Maxwell does a Buttler and takes this deep. The break is not that big - join us back at 1605 local (1505 GMT).
Australia might take solace from the fact that they have 'RESTRICTED' England to 342. When Roy was going big guns, 380-390 was on the cards. But after his dismissal, the visitors conceded only 14 in the next 4 overs. The last 10 overs too, went for 89 runs, yielding 4 wickets, of which, 31 came in 6 overs at one stage. Jhye Richardson was the pick of the bowlers with 2/64 while Kane did well at the death, ending up with 2 scalps. The rest, well, were simply struggling. Tye picked up 2 wickets but was not at all impressive. Not to mention, the two rain breaks hurt Australia even more.
Not surprisingly choosing to field under overcast conditions, Tim Paine would have expected his new-ball bowlers to give him some early inroads. But they struggled with the wind and ended up bowling too many loose balls. Jason Roy took full toll of that as he made a commanding 120 while the others played around him, making useful contributions. This was the first time in ODI cricket that the first 5 wickets had added 50 or more. Buttler then ensured that he was there till the end to take England close to 350.
Highest ODI total at this ground. Highest ODI score for England against Australia. Highest score by an English captain at this ground. Boy, have the hosts made merry on an overcast morning and a sunny afternoon.

Just an update - In spite of the long rain breaks, the overs have not been reduced. What has been cut down, is the lunch interval. It will now be only of 20 minutes. Wish I had a machine to feed me, then get it chewed and make the food digest as well.

35.5W
Andrew Tye to Jason Roy. OUT! That is a spectacular catch by Paine! Boy o boy, the bowling and batting have been letting Australia down for ages now but their fielding continues to be excellent. In this game itself, we have seen two examples - D'Arcy Short taking that catch of Joe Root and now the Australian skipper strutting his stuff. On the ball, it was a very good nut in the first place. Tye landed this on a length outside off and Roy was forward to defend. But then, the ball came back in sharply and also stayed low a touch. Just took the bottom edge and then, flew past the stumps. But with the ball flying, so does Tim Paine. He just goes to his left and takes the ball in his left glove! That too, cleanly. Tye has to appeal as Roy does not go initially. Now the opener walks off shaking his head. Brilliant innings, ended by a peach of a ball and a magnificent catch. Now, how will this affect England's final surge?

35.32
Andrew Tye to Jason Roy. Outside off, Roy waits for the ball to come to him and steers it behind point for a couple.
Oh... wait. The covers are asked to stop just outside the boundary line. It has stopped raining, so the covers are being asked to be taken back. Meanwhile, Paine is seeming okay so he will continue to keep and captain.
The COVERS ARE CALLED ON too. Before this ball, it was drizzling pretty heavily and umpire Erasmus is not happy with the current state. The physio is tending to Paine but boy, there is a big gash across his right cheek.
35.3wd
Andrew Tye to Jason Roy. WIDE BUT PAINE IS DOWN! The Australian skipper cum keeper is down on his haunches. Full and down the leg side, Roy misses his flick. Coming to the ball, Roy just places this behind point and comes back for the second. This is also just the second ODI ton by an opener at Cardiff, after Shikhar Dhawan's 114 against South Africa in the 2013 Champions Trophy. Now for some bashing. Sorry. SOME MORE BASHING.

Scratch the previous update. The rain is back and more covers are being brought on. Longer delay is expected.
Well, the rain intensity keeps testing the umpires. They are taking the players off but just as I type this, THE RAIN HAS STOPPED. So do not go anywhere, we should not be far from resumption.

Marcus Stoinis to Joe Root. OUT! Superb catch taken by D'Arcy to cut Root's innings short! An uncharacteristic shot from Root. All he needed to do was to play around Roy. But he had made up his mind to attack this ball and jumped out of his crease. Stoinis saw that and banged it in short. Root swivelled with the leap and pulled it towards deep square leg. The ball was dipping onto the fielder but Short came running in and took it with his left hand, inches above the ground! Well done... but questions will be asked to Root as to why did he play that shot in the first place.

Not the best of bowling days for Australia - struggling with the wet ball. They will have to cope with more wet stuff after coming back. Jhye Richardson has been expensive but impressive. The rest have not quite adjusted as yet.
How good has Jason Roy been? He always reserves one big innings in a series - his 180 in the very first ODI Down Under serves as a reminder. He has not played too many flashy shots and at the same time, kept the run rate steady and above 6. England will hope he keeps going because his innings' depth will be the difference between a possible 400 and a 325.
Australia will not mind this rain break one bit. Their bowlers were struggling to grip the ball and England were smartly playing as well. They knew rain was around the corner and have accelerated with proper sense, without trying to hit too hard and not losing too many wickets. Remember, if it does come down to Duckworth-Lewis-Stern at the end of the day, wickets in hand always help.
Well, it seems like the umpires have had enough. They have been extremely patient so far, not letting the temptation of going into the shed at the very first instance. But now, it has become a bit too heavy to allow play to carry on.

18.4W
Jhye Richardson to Alex Hales. OUT! Through him! Jhye gets Hales with a cracker of a delivery. A real critic might just observe a bit of a lack of footwork in that one. But still, there is less that Hales could have done about that ball. It was pitched outside off and Hales looked to play that straight. The willow came down a bit late and Hales was beaten by pace. But he could not account for the movement. That too, a late one. The ball just seamed in and went between bat and pad to hit the middle stump. Yawning gap between bat and pad, yes. But the pace and movement were simply too good. Hales falls after a start as well, but he did not throw his wicket away at least.

DRINKS BREAK. It has been a disappointing bowling performance from Australia so far. They started well, then slipped off the radar, got the wicket of Bairstow but then have not been able to pile on pressure. Add to it, they have not been able to adjust to the blistery conditions either. The Hales-Roy stand is already worth 49 and England are looking to up the ante now.

It will be Jhye Richardson straightaway to Jason Roy. Bairstow will be standing near the umpire. A nought it was for Roy, on Wednesday. Here we go...
TEAM NEWS - As expected, Billy Stanlake is not playing and Jhye Richardson comes in his place. Looks a like-to-like replacement in terms of pace. The other change for Australia is D'Arcy Short replacing Michael Neser. Batting strengthened then with the debutant coming in. For England, captain Eoin Morgan is out due to a back spasm. Jos Buttler captains in his place while Morgan's replacement is Sam Billings. Two wicket-keeper captains then.
TOSS - It is a delayed toss but the match is expected to start on time. Tim Paine has called it correctly and AUSTRALIA WILL CHASE today.
WEATHER - It has been drizzling since morning and it is heavily overcast as of now. Depends on when you are reading though because the weather over here changes very frequently. There is rain forecast for this game and do not be surprised if we have a start-stop game.
1-4 in 5 matches - Australia's ODI record in Cardiff. Will that first number change today? England would love that to remain as it is. The visitors come into this game with some fitness issues - Billy Stanlake has had a laceration in his right toe - resulting in him missing out on the practice session yesterday. No such worries about England though.
A win is a win even though it might have been scratchy. England were all over Australia in London for a major part, stuttering only for small portions. The hosts will back themselves to bring out a clinical display today and double their series lead. The visitors though, will not be totally unhappy with their loss in the first game. The bowlers need to be a given a huge pat on the back for keeping a side like England which has a massive batting depth under check, while the batting will understand that a little bit of sensible approach is the need of the hour to support its bowling. Hello and a warm welcome to the second ODI between England and Australia in Cardiff.
End of Over : 47.1AUS: 304/10
That ends the second ODI. Australia were not at their best today either but they fought hard towards the end, riding on Shaun Marsh's century. They have not won a bilateral ODI series since beating Pakistan at home in January 2017. Since then, they have lost 0-2 to New Zealand, 1-4 to India and 1-4 to England. Can they keep the series alive in Nottingham? Join us on Tuesday, 19th June, 2018 at 1400 local (1300 GMT) for the third ODI. In the meanwhile, you can catch all the action from the second Windies-Sri Lanka Test as well, going on in St. Lucia. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
JASON ROY HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH FOR HIS 120. Feels relieved to get out of the low-scoring rut. Stresses that there is never any complacency in the English dressing room and every player looks to play well every game. Adds that he was happy to play anchor when Jonny Bairstow was going great guns. On the opening partnership, Roy wishes that there is a consistent opening pair rather than the constant chopping and changing but is quick to admit that he enjoys batting anywhere and with anyone.
Victorious England captain, Jos Buttler, admits that England have won by a good margin but they had to fight hard. Praises Adil Rashid for bowling well at the death when batsmen were going after him and also Plunkett who impressed with a 4-fer. On Jason Roy's knock, he admires the way he paced his innings and reckons England could have got more but Australia bowled well at the death. Is enjoying captaincy but also feels it is a double-edged sword. Is proud of his unit and aims to go 3-0 up at Nottingham.
Australian captain, Tim Paine, feels that 343 was not too many to chase. He says that this can be seen from the way Shaun Marsh played and stitched a wonderful stand from Ashton Agar. Rues the fact that Marsh could not get enough batting partners and reckons that the southpaw can still play a lot of cricket for Australia. Admits that one of the frontline batsmen could have played a bit more and helped Marsh take the team over the line. Is confident that if this side plays at its best, it can still beat England. On being asked about his fitness, Paine says that he is fine now.
Earlier in the day, Australia elected to bowl on an overcast morning but did not bowl well at all. They were forced to play in wet conditions and could not quite adjust to the same. They came back towards the end to keep England to 342, which could otherwise have seen them rocket to 380. Stay tuned for the presentation.
Not exactly hard for England today but they will feel they could have done better. The bowlers did the hard part by reducing Australia to 110/4 and then would have thought the challenge is over after Maxwell was gone. But then they struggled to bowl consistently during the Agar-Marsh partnership before doing well at the death. Plunkett picked up 4 wickets and was the pick of the bowlers while Rashid's 3 at the death brought England back into the game. Do not forget Moeen Ali's economical 2/47 which stifled the Aussies.
Once again, the top order of the Aussies did not turn up. It just looks odd with three left-handers batting in that top three and England exposed the chink. Travis Head looks out of sorts, D'Arcy Short was struggling big time while Shaun Marsh struggled early on. Stoinis and Finch's indifferent form is not helping them either. Even from this position, the lower middle order took them to 300. Just imagine what could happen if the top order contributes more.
So, a victory which never really looked in doubt after England made 342. But Australia did give them a scare. They looked down at out at 110/4 but the 54-run stand between Marsh and Maxwell followed by the 96-run partnership between Marsh and Agar gave the visiting side some hope. However, in the end, England were good enough to brush aside the threats.
47.1W

Bowls a lovely delivery, full and swinging in, Marsh looks to flick but is done in by the lack of pace on that one. He misses and the ball disturbs the stumps. End of an innings which started sluggishly, then picked up momentum when no one was watching and in the end, gave his side some hope - worthy of an applause. Adil Rashid to Ashton Agar. OUT! STUMPED! Rashid has broken the 96-run stand. England will heave a sigh of relief. That partnership seemed to be taking the match out of their control. Beautiful bowling from Adil Rashid. He gives this plenty of air and then gets it to drift away. Agar is tempted and comes down the track. But then, he is beaten in the flight and misses the ball. Buttler doesn't. Collects and whips off the bails. Buttler and Rashid rejoice. This wicket means so much to them. Didn't look like Australia will come this far after Maxwell got out. Well played, Ashton Agar. He and Marsh have given their team some sort of a chance - if not, at least fought hard. Nice to see some fight shown.

Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. On middle and leg, tucked towards mid-wicket. 10 from that over, Rashid's figures read 3-0-25-1.
22.52
Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. Full and outside off, Marsh comes down the track and drives it towards long off. Substitute Tom Curran comes charging in and has some work to do. Maxwell wants the second but Marsh says no. Now because there is such a loud communication, it attracts Curran's attention. He does the crime of looking up to see what is the drama and in the process, misses the ball. Even now, Marsh is not sure whether the second should be taken but Maxwell stamps his authority and calls him through.
22.40
Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
22.31

20.61
Adil Rashid to Glenn Maxwell. Full and outside off, driven towards mid off for a single. 8 runs and a wicket from that over, Rashid's figures read 2-0-15-1.
Glenn Maxwell comes in at number 6, replacing Finch. A last ray of hope, if any, for the visitors. Batting is getting increasingly difficult with the pitch tiring down and also taking spin.
20.5W
Adil Rashid to Aaron Finch. OUT! Stone dead. Aaron Finch here in front of the wickets and Australia in this run chase. Very full, on middle, Finch gets down to paddle but misses and is hit on the pads. That always looked out and as soon as the bowler appealed, the umpire raised his finger. Finch had a chat with his partner but then was sent on his way by Marsh who would have just asked - 'Did you hit it'? A duck for Finch, his 8th in ODIs, half of them coming against this opposition.
20.41
Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. On middle, flicked towards mid-wicket for a single.
20.34
Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. FOUR! 13th ODI Fifty for Marsh. Gets a bit of a gift from Rashid, a high full toss, the southpaw comes down the track and heaves it over mid-wicket. It is a miscue but in the gap.

Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. Around off, defended back to the bowler.
20.12

End of Over : 204 RunsAUS: 103/3
19.60
Liam Plunkett to Aaron Finch. The batsman fails to put bat on ball.
19.50
Liam Plunkett to Aaron Finch. A short ball now, defended stoutly.
19.44
Liam Plunkett to Aaron Finch. FOUR LEG BYES. Down the leg side, Finch looks to tuck it fine but misses. However, the ball kisses his thigh pads and shoots to the fine leg fence. 100 UP FOR AUSTRALIA, but at a much slower rate than they would have wanted.
Aaron Finch comes in next, at number 5, replacing Stoinis.
19.3W
Liam Plunkett to Marcus Stoinis. OUT! Nothing Stoinis could have done about that. The ball pitched on a length outside off, he looked to defend from the crease but the ball just shot low, took the bottom edge and cannoned into the stumps. Stoinis stands there in despair before trudging off. Such things happen when the pitches get drier. Tough luck for Stoinis. Australia sink deeper - 244 more needed from 183 balls.
19.20
Liam Plunkett to Marcus Stoinis. Full and outside off, Stoinis takes his bat out of the way.
19.10

18.4wd
Adil Rashid to Marcus Stoinis. WIDE. The googly again, but this is down the leg side. Marcus cannot quite connect with his attempted flick.
18.32
Adil Rashid to Marcus Stoinis. Floated outside off, Stoinis lofts this inside out over cover for a couple. 248 more needed from 189 balls.
Interesting. Nasser Hussain observed Shaun Marsh's dismissal in the first match. After that he asked Ricky Ponting whether this has something to do with the southpaw's technique or whether he gets genuinely good balls most often. To that, Punter replies that batters look to move away from the ball in order to play the inside out shot. He adds that Marsh should get habituated to getting closer to the ball rather than moving away.
18.20
Adil Rashid to Marcus Stoinis. The googly outside off, punched towards extra cover.
18.11
Adil Rashid to Shaun Marsh. A touch short on middle, punched down to long on for a single.

17.61
Joe Root to Shaun Marsh. Tossed up around middle and leg, eased down to long on for one.
17.50
Joe Root to Shaun Marsh. Marsh defends this one off the front foot onto the ground.
There's some issue with the ball and the umpires are having a look at that. When Marsh hit the biggie, someone in the crowd stretched his arms but failed to grab that. Perhaps post that, it might have landed on some rough surface. The umpires have taken the opportunity to call for drinks.
17.46
Joe Root to Shaun Marsh. SIX! Excellent use of the feel from Shaun Marsh. He is quick to get down the track to the pitch of the ball and go through with the extension of the arms for the lofted stroke. Easily clears the long on fence. This is a welcome boundary for the Aussies after 48 deliveries. Interestingly, as soon as the southpaw played that, someone shouted 'catch it'. Not sure who.
17.31
Joe Root to Marcus Stoinis. Flatter on the pads, wristed away to the on side for one.
17.20
Joe Root to Marcus Stoinis. MS goes back to this one and punches it to the off side.

Marcus Stoinis makes his way out to the middle next for Australia. A slip and a straight mid on in place.
14.5W
Moeen Ali to D'Arcy Short. OUT! Short's struggles against spin have become more glaring, if they already hadn't in the Indian T20 League. Ali tosses this up nicely around off, Short hangs on the back foot and looks to push it. The ball spins just a bit and takes the outside edge. It is safely pouched by Root, standing at slip. Wonderful from England and Moeen is yet again among the wickets for them. What is interesting to note about D'Arcy here is today, he wasn't at ease even against the seamers.
14.40
Moeen Ali to D'Arcy Short. Short is struggling to rotate strike now. He finds the man stationed at covers with the drive.
14.30
Moeen Ali to D'Arcy Short. Driven through the covers by the batsman.

13.50

13.11
Joe Root to Shaun Marsh. Flatter one on the pads, flicked away round the corner for one.
More spin. Joe Root to roll his arm over. Perhaps the presence of two southpaws has mooted this move from Buttler.
End of Over : 134 RunsAUS: 71/1
12.61

12.41
Moeen Ali to Shaun Marsh. Marsh pushes it towards mid off for a single.
12.30
Moeen Ali to Shaun Marsh. Dropped? Seems so. Tom Curran the culprit. Tossed up on the stumps, Marsh slinks down the track and whips it straight to mid-wicket. Curran the substitute, fluffs the chance. Even earlier, Bairstow had grassed an opportunity of Shaun. Can he make England pay?
12.21

12.10

11.42
Liam Plunkett to Shaun Marsh. On the pads again, flicked away through square leg for a brace.
11.32
Liam Plunkett to Shaun Marsh. Excellently done by Wood. Plunkett errs in line and delivers it on the pads. Marsh just tucks it away fine. The ball seems to be headed to the fence, before Mark rushes to his left and puts in a sliding effort. He does well and keeps the batters to two, it seems. Numerous replays roll in and find that the fielder has done just well. Leg byes signalled by the umpire.
There is a good diving effort at the fine leg fence. Mark Wood is the fielder. It's taken upstairs for a check.
11.20
Liam Plunkett to Shaun Marsh. Huge appeal, for nothing. Length ball, a touch shorter. Marsh arches back to play the cut but gets hit on the pads. The English appeal to no avail. An inside edge is detected on the replays.

Moeen Ali to D'Arcy Short. Short and flat outside off, cut away through backward point for one. The batters think about the second but that's not on.
10.20
Moeen Ali to D'Arcy Short. Spin is not Short's strength and the first sign of that is seen here. He goes back to block it but ends up punching it aerially towards covers. Goes on the bounce to the man there.
10.11
Moeen Ali to Shaun Marsh. Oh, not the start Moeen would've wanted. Flatter outside off, Marsh punches it to covers. But Roy there misfields, which results in a single.

Shaun Marsh comes in at number 3, replacing Head. Really bizarre from Australia. 1,2 and 3 are all southpaws.
3.2W
Mark Wood to Travis Head. OUT! The catch is legal and Head has to depart. Wood strikes. He bowls it on a length, around middle and leg and Head looks to tuck it around the corner. But he struggles to adjust to the extra bounce and just tucks it uppishly. Alex Hales dives to his right from short mid-wicket and takes it cleanly. However, the umpires are not so sure and refer it upstairs. One look is good enough to certify that. Another failure for Head. 319 more needed from 280 balls.
Is that caught now? Head has flicked one straight to mid-wicket but the umpires want to see whether the catch is legal.
3.14

1.60
Mark Wood to Travis Head. NOT OUT. PITCHED OUTSIDE LEG. Does seem like a waste of the review. To the naked eye itself, it looked like pitching outside leg. Hawk Eye just confirms it. Head walked across a touch to tuck it to the leg side but missed and was hit on the pads. Buttler was not sure but the bowler convinced him to go upstairs.
LBW! Or not? Wood convinces Buttler to go for the LBW review against Head. Here we go...

England vs Australia Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - ODI Commentary
Andrew Tye to Jos Buttler. FOUR! A boundary to end the innings! A short ball on middle, following the batsman, Buttler pulls it behind square leg and ends the innings in style! AUSTRALIA NEED 343 TO LEVEL THE SERIES.
Andrew Tye to Jos Buttler. FOUR! Short and outside off, Buttler backs away and looks to go over cover but the ball goes off the toe end of his bat. Still, is in the gap.
Andrew Tye to Jos Buttler. 'C'MONNNN!!!' Never seen Tim Paine so angry. He is not happy with the fielder. That should never have been two. A slower ball outside off, Buttler mistimes his pull to long off and somehow comes back for the second. The fielder was a tad slow to get to the ball.
Adil Rashid walks in now.
Andrew Tye to Liam Plunkett. OUT! Selfless cricket from Plunkett. He had to bring Buttler on strike and ran immediately as soon as he hit this towards short mid-wicket. D'Ary Short just collected and under-armed a throw to the bowler who did the rest.
Andrew Tye to Jos Buttler. Banged in short, pulled wide of long on for one.

Sam Billings walks in at number 6, replacing Roy.
Andrew Tye to Jason Roy. FOUR! Uppish but safe! Full and outside off, Roy drives this uppishly, just wide of mid off for a boundary!
Andrew Tye to Jason Roy. WIDE BUT PAINE IS DOWN! The Australian skipper cum keeper is down on his haunches. Full and down the leg side, Roy misses his flick. Andrew Tye to Jason Roy. On middle and leg, flicked straight to short mid-wicket.

Ashton Agar to Jason Roy. HUNDRED FOR ROY! His 5th in ODIs. His first after 10 innings, the previous one being a mammoth 180 at the MCG against the same opposition.

England's stand-in captain, Jos Buttler, walks in.

Just a hover cover in place. Hopefully, the shower goes off quickly. Stay tuned...

'IamGoa - Is this a ground or a sponge? Seems to be draining water effectively. What is it with the umpires? Can't they see it is raining so heavily?' @IamGoa - Well, we do agree with you. But they know the weather conditions better than us. Might be expecting passing showers...

Joe Root walks in next, at number 4. The rain seems to have abated.

They started well, then slipped off the radar, got the wicket of Bairstow but then have not been able to pile on pressure. Add to it, they have not been able to adjust to the blistery conditions either. The Hales-Roy stand is already worth 49 and England are looking to up the ante now.

Kane Richardson to Jonny Bairstow. OUT! The bowling change, fielding change and the end change works! Australia have managed to break the opening stand. Kane Richardson's change of ends helps him. Given that third man came up before this ball, Bairstow thought of playing this fine, just past that man inside the circle. He backed away to a length delivery but it was not that far from him. He flayed hard and only managed a nick behind. Once again, Jonny falls after a start.

The Aussies are not quite happy with the shape of the ball and have pointed it out to the umpire. Marais Erasmus agrees and out comes the box of balls. The umpires just check for a ball which is in a similar condition and we are ready again...

Kane Richardson to Jonny Bairstow. Outside off, Bairstow punches it through cover-point. A single taken.

Okay then! 11 men in yellow, 2 in red and 2 in blue spread out to the field like a falcon spreads its wings. The weather is good enough right now for play to begin.
Liam Plunkett to Jhye Richardson. OUT! That ends the game. Plunkett finishes with four wickets. A length ball outside off, slower in pace, Jhye Richardson heaves it towards long on where Jason Roy comes running in and takes a brilliant diving catch. ENGLAND WIN BY 38 RUNS AND GO 2-0 UP!!!

Adil Rashid to Andrew Tye. FOUR! In the air, could have been caught but Mark Wood has not picked it! A short ball, on middle, Tye pulls this towards deep square leg where Wood is stationed. Liam Plunkett to Shaun Marsh. OUT! Done in by the slower one! Plunkett has made a mess of Marsh's stumps. He does not drop it. Paine is frustrated with himself. England will breathe with even more relief. Australia might have been dreaming about a win but now, everything depends solely on Marsh. 51 more needed from 28 balls.
Liam Plunkett to Tim Paine. DROPPED! Will this prove costly? A length ball outside off, Paine backs away and then slices the ball high in the air. Moeen Ali covers a lot of ground from backward point, gets to the ball, takes the catch, only to palm it down! Two runs taken.
Liam Plunkett is back for another burst.

However, instead of going inside out, the Big Show looks to go leg side, which means he has to reach out for the ball. Ends up dragging it high in the air. David Willey at long on completes the formalities. The match is almost a formality as well now. 179 more needed from 118 balls. This is the FOURTH TIME that Moeen has removed Maxwell in ODIs - joint most by any bowler against Maxi - along with Morne Morkel.

Aaron Finch comes in next, at number 5, replacing Stoinis.
Liam Plunkett to Marcus Stoinis. OUT! Nothing Stoinis could have done about that. The ball pitched on a length outside off, he looked to defend from the crease but the ball just shot low, took the bottom edge and cannoned into the stumps. Interesting. Nasser Hussain observed Shaun Marsh's dismissal in the first match. After that he asked Ricky Ponting whether this has something to do with the southpaw's technique or whether he gets genuinely good balls most often. He adds that Marsh should get habituated to getting closer to the ball rather than moving away.

Joe Root to Shaun Marsh. SIX! Excellent use of the feel from Shaun Marsh. He is quick to get down the track to the pitch of the ball and go through with the extension of the arms for the lofted stroke. Easily clears the long on fence.
