Zimbabwe needed wickets to win this game. Mire and Musakanda gave them a fighting chance with the total they had on the board, but the bowlers couldn't back it up. The Powerplay more or less ended it for them, because post that, the Pakistan batsmen never needed to take any risks and went about their business without any trouble. Also, the captaincy maybe lack some aggression, as Pakistan were allowed to rotate strike without any pressure. It was an improved performance from them, but just wasn't enough. That pretty much put the visiting side in pole position to win this game as the asking rate was always in control after that and the batsmen to follow had their jobs made easy for them. Solid partnerships from the middle order, which included the likes of Talat, Sarfraz and Malik, saw the match through with utmost ease.
