A 53-run stand for the 6th wicket between Kinchit Shah and Aizaz Khan helped their team's cause a bit but it was not enough. Once the partnership was broken, the following batsmen fell like a pack of cards. Usman Khan was the tormenter-in-chief as he took three wickets in an over. The Pakistani bowlers didn't allow the tail to wag as well. Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan were in their elements and took 2 wickets apiece. Looks like it will be a cakewalk for Pakistan. A terrific bowling performance from Pakistan has ensured that Hong Kong have been bundled out for a meager total. No surprise though as it was too much of an ask for the minnows to compete against a team who are at the top of their game at the moment. The Hong Kong openers started cautiously, got off to starts but failed to convert them. The Men in Green continued to take wickets at regular intervals, denying the opposition any sort of momentum.

Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur is being interviewed near the ropes and he says that his team stuck to the back of a length and kept the lines tight. Adds further that he is happy where his side is at the moment. Feels that the finger spinners did not turn the ball as much last night. Reckons it was a bit more humid and bit more conducive for spin last night as compared to today. States that all his boys have worked hard to improve their fielding standards and applauds his fielders for taking a couple of good catches and making some important run outs. Admits that Mohammad Nawaz is a good bowler and feels that the wickets will get drier as the tournament progresses and Nawaz will come into play more in the later stages. States that they will look to go ahead with a professional batting display today and chase the total down as early as possible. Informs that his team has trained hard in Lahore before coming here and also have gone through three training sessions on this ground. Hence he believes that they cannot complain about the heat and ends by saying that it is what it is and they have to work hard.

Imam-ul-Haq at extra cover takes a sharp catch and Hong Kong have lost another. Whenever such dismissals are seen, I remember the great Ian Chappell on air during the 2007 ODI World Cup. Ian Bell of England got out to Australia during a league game, trying to hit the ball over the top, getting caught in a similar fashion as Carter today. That time, Chappell had remarked, 'Well, there is no point in playing this kind of a shot. You either go over the top and clear the infield or hit the ball along the ground. Not the in-between shots which are neither over nor along.'

Pakistan captain, Sarfraz Ahmed, says they also wanted to bat first but the toss is not in their control. Adds further that they will try to restrict Hong Kong to the lowest possible total and chase down the target at the earliest. Congratulates the Hong Kong team for qualifying for this tournament. States that his team will not relax even a bit and will look to play some hard cricket. Mentions that this a long tournament and they are just focused on playing well. Also reckons that as the tournament will progress, the surface will start to get slower and will turn more. Ends by saying that they are going in with four pacers and one spinner.

Hong Kong captain, Anshuman Rath, says there is no better place to perform for them than the Asia Cup. Adds further that as a team they are fit, in good form, full of confidence and raring to go out and perform. Reckons that they have beaten top teams in the past and are confident of repeating it. States that at this level it is all about confidence. Ends by saying that they will look to continue with their good form and confidence with which they won the Qualifiers a few days ago.

Hello and a warm welcome to the second match of the tournament between the 2017 Champions Trophy winners, Pakistan and the winners of 2018 Asia Cup Qualifiers, Hong Kong. Even though Pakistan are expected to roll over Hong Kong, if yesterday's match is of any relevance, a fighting performance from the underdogs is a strong and exciting possibility. Pakistan will be keen on taking their ODI form into the tournament and kick start their 2018 Asia Cup journey with a bang. Hong Kong, on the other hand, will look forward to enjoy this experience of playing against one of the top sides in world cricket and will be keen on putting in a competitive performance and make a match out of today's game.
