India vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score Final Match - ODI Commentary

End of Over : 48.3 BAN: 222/10

A solid response from the Indians after being pummeled in the beginning by Liton Das. Once again, it was Jadhav who managed to find the breakthrough when the rest were struggling. It was him who broke that opening stand and then picked the prized scalp of Mushfiqur Rahim, which led to the eventual Bangladeshi collapse. Three run outs didn't help their cause either. The rest joined in, with Kuldeep bagging 3 and Chahal and Bumrah having a wicket apiece. 223 is a target which India will fancy, but a couple of early wickets on this already slow surface about to slow down more could make things interesting. Let's see what happens on the other side of the break.

A good comeback from the Men in Blue after getting battered in the early part of the innings. Mainly, in the death overs, where Bumrah and Bhuvi were right on the money, a complete contrast to how they performed in Powerplay 1. Bangladesh will be quite disappointed with what they have on the board, especially after the rollicking century opening stand between Das and Mehidy. But after that, a major collapse followed. Only 3 batsmen in total went on to get double figures, with one of them being Liton, who grabbed his maiden ODI ton. That says a lot about both their batting and the Indian bowling.

48.3 W

Jasprit Bumrah to Rubel Hossain. OUT! GONE! This is some exceptional death bowling from Jasprit Bumrah. As he has been in this last spell, he comes steaming in and fires a yorker on the stumps. Rubel Hossain makes room, looks to dig it out but it's too good for him. His stumps are rattled and that brings about an end to the innings. BANGLADESH ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 222!

48.2 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Rubel Hossain. Full and arrowed around leg, catches Rubel low on the pads.

Rubel Hossain is the last batsman in for Bangladesh.

48.1 W

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. OUT! He is. Superb run out from the Indians, particularly MS Dhoni. He shows good awareness here. Sarkar awkwardly slaps the pull through mid on. Takes one, and then calls for the second. Rayudu charges to the ball from the deep and fires it at the striker's end. Dhoni sees this, runs towards the stumps, collects the ball with the momentum and takes the bails off. He wasn't sure, but it's taken upstairs. Replays roll in and show that Soumya is just short.

Run out appeal! Is he gone? Soumya Sarkar the man in question.

End of Over : 48 8 Runs BAN: 221/8
47.6 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mustafizur Rahman. Big swing and a big miss. Back of a length on middle and leg, Mustafizur goes for the big heave but connects only with thin air.

47.5 2

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mustafizur Rahman. The batsman has driven it through mid on. The batsmen have picked up a couple of runs.

47.4 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mustafizur Rahman. Switches to 'round the wicket, it's angling in on leg. It keeps going down with the angle and catches Rahman on the pads as he looks to work it across the line. An appeal goes up, but it's turned down, probably missing leg or clipping at best.

47.3 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. Shaping away from around off, dabbed square towards point for a single.

47.3 wd

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. Wide! Too far outside off, across the tramline and a wide is signalled.

47.2 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. Right on the money again. Wow. This is superb bowling. Yorker around leg. Sarkar barely manages to dig it out.

47.1 4

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. FOUR! Not a bad bat at all, just some good fortune on Sarkar's end. Yorker around leg, Soumya somehow gets some bat on it and it runs down to fine leg off the inner half. The fielder at the rope tries to stop it with a dive, but can't.

End of Over : 47 3 Runs BAN: 213/8
46.6 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Mustafizur Rahman. Full toss on off, played to point. A superb over from Bumrah, a wicket and 3 runs off it. 1 run came off a wide.

46.5 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Mustafizur Rahman. Another run out chance, but this one goes abegging. Mustafizur plays it towards point and takes off. Is sent back, similar to the previous delivery, and Pandey has a shy at the striker's end. Misses but it's not over. Bhuvi who is backing up at short mid-wicket, collects and seeing Sarkar out of his crease too, looks to score a direct hit at the bowler's end but misses as well. All happening here. Good to see the players smiling.

Mustafizur Rahman is next in.

46.4 W

Jasprit Bumrah to Nazmul Islam. OUT! Run out! Nazmul Islam is out of here. This is good bowling from Bumrah. He spears in another yorker around leg, hits the batsman low on the pads and a loud appeal goes up which is turned down. During all this, Islam takes off as the ball rolls to point but his partner Sarkar doesn't. Nazmul has to track back after coming more than halfway down the track but by this time he's gone for all money. Manish Pandey (sub) has so much time that he runs to the stumps and takes the bails off with no trouble.

46.3 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Full outside off, pushed through the cover area for one.

46.2 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. An accurate yorker, on leg stump, Sarkar looks to stay leg side and drill it through the off side, but instead gets an inside edge back onto his pads.

46.1 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Nazmul Islam. Slanting across on a full length, outside off, driven a bit square just wide of sweeper cover. Single to the total.

46.1 wd

Jasprit Bumrah to Nazmul Islam. Wide! Down the leg side, Islam looks to flick but misses. Wide signalled.

End of Over : 46 8 Runs BAN: 210/7
45.6 2

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. Full in length on leg stump, clipped neatly through the leg side, more specifically through square leg, for a brace.

45.5 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. Beautiful. A pinpoint yorker on leg, curling back in, Sarkar can't do anything about it as the ball goes off his boot and lobs behind. Dhoni moves to his left and collects, stopping the batsmen from taking the single.

45.4 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Nazmul Islam. Switches to around the wicket and lands it outside off on a length. It holds its line as Islam cuts it behind point. Another two on offer but the batsmen take one.

45.3 2

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Nazmul Islam. Fraction straight in line, easy peasy for Islam to work it off his pads through square leg for a couple of runs.

45.2 2

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Nazmul Islam. A little much width offered outside off, Nazmul drives it through the big gap in the covers. The sweeper has to cover some decent ground to his left, which allows the batsmen to come back for the second.

45.1 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Soumya Sarkar. Hits that full length again, almost a yorker on off, drilled down to long off by Soumya for a run.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar also returns.

End of Over : 45 3 Runs BAN: 202/7
44.6 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Nazmul Islam. Nazmul Islam has played that off the front foot and into the ground.

44.5 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Good running. Sarkar pats it down in front of point and both batsmen take off. Rush across and complete the run with ease.

44.4 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Slanting across on a good length, around off, Soumya goes back and pushes it away on the off side beside the track.

44.3 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Nazmul Islam. Another yorker, on leg stump, Islam looks to work it away but it goes off his boot to the square leg region. A leg bye is taken.

44.2 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Nazmul Islam. On the fuller side of things again, around off, Islam blocks it with the full face of the bat.

44.1 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Wastes no time as he fires in the yorker, on the stumps, Sarkar somehow manages to dig it out off the inside edge onto his pads. It rolls on the off side and a single is taken.

Jasprit Bumrah is back to have a go with the ball.

End of Over : 44 3 Runs BAN: 199/7
43.6 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Nazmul Islam. Turning in sharply from around the wicket, outside off, Islam goes deep inside the crease and blocks it down on the off side.

43.2 0

43.1 1

Yuzvendra Chahal to Soumya Sarkar. Flat, short and spinning in on off, Soumya offers a firm punch down the ground to long on for a single.

End of Over : 43 6 Runs BAN: 196/7
42.6 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Nazmul Islam. On a flatter trajectory, kept out watchfully.

Nazmul Islam walks into the middle next.

42.5 W

Kuldeep Yadav to Mashrafe Mortaza. OUT! Kuldeep has bamboozled Mortaza completely to get a 3-fer! Classic deception to get rid of the Bangladesh skipper. He spots Mortaza using his feet and hence, bowls a googly on a flatter trajectory and it is outside off as well. It spins a long way away as Mashrafe swings wildly across the line probably not picking the wrong one. He ends up missing it completely. Dhoni behind does the rest, he will affect such stumpings in his sleep too. Another achievement regarding which MS will be proud of as this is his 800th dismissal in international cricket. India keep on chipping away at the wickets. Can they bowl out Bangladesh before their allotted quota of overs?

42.4 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Mashrafe Mortaza. Good bowling from Kuldeep! He spots Mortaza making room and bowls a googly outside off. Mashrafe swings through the line but misses.

42.3 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Mashrafe Mortaza. Tossed up ball, defended nicely off the front foot.

42.2 6

Kuldeep Yadav to Mashrafe Mortaza. SIX! In the arc, out of the park! Slower through the air around off, Mortaza kneels on one knee and nails the slog sweep over mid-wicket. Deep into the stand she goes. Wonderful hit.

41.6 1

Yuzvendra Chahal to Mashrafe Mortaza. Mortaza skips down the track and smacks it to wide long off for a single.

41.5 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Mashrafe Mortaza. Flights it up there around off, pushed away gently with soft hands.

41.4 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Mashrafe Mortaza. Stifled shout, but the impact is outside leg. Chahal with the quicker one on leg, it keeps going down with the angle, Mortaza goes back to play at it but is caught on the pads.

41.3 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Mashrafe Mortaza. Slow through the air, landed on a driveable length, Mortaza plants his front foot forward and sees it out.

41.2 1

Yuzvendra Chahal to Soumya Sarkar. Goes with the spin and wrists it down to long on for a single.

41.1 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Soumya Sarkar. Tossed up leg break on middle and leg, blocked from the front foot.

Mashrafe Mortaza is the next batsman in. Also, Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl again.

End of Over : 41 10 Runs BAN: 188/6
40.6 W

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. OUT! Superb work from MS Dhoni! Kuldeep bowls the wrong 'un around off, Das doesn't pick it up as he comes forward to block. Is beaten past the outside edge and his back leg drags out of the crease. Now, seeing this, and given how quick Dhoni is with the gloves, is a dangerous thing. MS whips the bails off and it's taken upstairs. Though, the Indian keeper signals it took him an extra second than usual due to the extra bounce. Anyway, the TV umpire has several looks at it. From different angles the foot seems to be behind the line, but from the stump cam it looks like the foot is on the line. But, it's signalled out eventually. Strange, as when one looks at it so many times, the benefit of the doubt is usually given to the batsman. Just something out of the ordinary from the usual norm. In any case, a wonderful knock from Liton Das comes to an end. Maybe just at the wrong time. Also, with this, Dhoni becomes the keeper with the most stumpings in Asia Cup, overtaking Kumar Sangakkara.

Lightning quick hands from Dhoni and a referral for a stumping has gone upstairs. Touch and go from the looks of it. Let's see...

40.5 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Served on leg, spinning away towards off, Liton is down to sweep but misses and wears it on the body.

40.4 2

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Deft from Liton. It's well outside off, he plays this late again past short third man. Chahal once more chases it down and two runs are taken.

40.3 4

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. FOUR! Loopy and right in the slot, Das clears his front leg and hammers it straight over the bowler's head. Beats the long on and finds the fence.

40.2 2

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Short on the stumps, pulled with a little swivel to deep mid-wicket for a double.

40.1 2

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Spinning in from outside off, on a shorter length, Das waits for it, uses the pace and runs it down towards third man. Chahal from inside the circle hares after it and keeps the batsmen down to two.

Powerplay 3 has been signalled. A maximum of 5 fielders will be allowed outside the ring till the end of the innings. Also, Kuldeep Yadav is back into the attack.

End of Over : 40 10 Runs BAN: 178/5

39.1 6

Kedar Jadhav to Soumya Sarkar. SIX! What a shot! Floated up, Sarkar walks down the track and swings across the line. Makes sweet connection on the slog and clears the mid-wicket rope with ease. A boundary after 63 balls.

End of Over : 39 2 Runs BAN: 168/5
38.6 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Cut late down to third man and a single is taken.

38.5 0

38.4 1

Jasprit Bumrah to Liton Das. Well outside off, on a good length, dabbed behind point with an open face for a single.

38.3 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Liton Das. Fuller in length outside off, driven crisply but straight to the man at extra cover.

38.2 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Liton Das. Another inside edge, on the pads this time. Bumrah angles it in on a length on off, Liton just about survives again.

38.1 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Liton Das. Bumrah angles this on a back of a length on off, Das looks to force it through the off side but gets a bottom edge right beside him. Could have just as easily dragged it back on.

End of Over : 38 1 Runs BAN: 166/5
37.6 0

Kedar Jadhav to Soumya Sarkar. Full delivery drifting in from around off, eased away to the cover area. Dot ball to end the over.

Kedar Jadhav to Liton Das. Full and straight from Kedar, Liton plays it back to him.

End of Over : 37 2 Runs BAN: 165/5

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Angling in on middle and leg, easy enough for Sarkar to pick it off his pads and work it square through the leg side for a brace.

36.5 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Sarkar has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.

36.4 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Beaten again! Bumrah is tempting Sarkar by giving him that width outside off. It's full in length, so the southpaw looks to play the booming drive through the cover region for nothing.

36.3 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Behind a good length, close to off, Sarkar with one more defensive shot.

36.2 0

Jasprit Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar. Bumrah offers room outside off, a length ball. Sarkar has a feel for it but gets beaten.

36.1 0

35.4 0

Kedar Jadhav to Soumya Sarkar. Outside off, placed square to point.

35.3 0

Kedar Jadhav to Soumya Sarkar. Not out! Sarkar works it away towards backward square leg and takes off. Sarkar takes off, then turns back and the throw is fired in at Dhoni. He takes the bails off but doesn't have the ball in his hands as he does so. So Sarkar is safe and lucky too, because if Dhoni had collected it cleanly, he would have been gone.

A run out appeal is taken upstairs. India don't look too confident though.

35.2 0

Kedar Jadhav to Soumya Sarkar. Fullish in length, around off, another block.

35.1 0

Kedar Jadhav to Soumya Sarkar. Drifting in from around off, from around the wicket, Sarkar is well forward in defense.

Drinks are on the field. India have come back into this game well. From 120/0, Bangladesh slipped to 151/5. The game, however, isn't in anyone's favour for the time being at least. This next phase of play could determine which way the tide turns. Crucial juncture for both sides.

End of Over : 35 3 Runs BAN: 160/5
34.6 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Quite full and very loopy outside off, Das comes forward, gets low and drives it right at the cover fielder.

34.5 1

Kuldeep Yadav to Soumya Sarkar. The batsman has driven it through mid on. One run added to the total.

34.4 1

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Turning in on middle and leg, full in length, swept down to fine leg for a single.

Kuldeep Yadav to Soumya Sarkar. Nicely done from the Indian skipper. Sarkar wrists this away towards short mid-wicket where Rohit dives to his right and keeps the batsmen to just the one.

34.2 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Soumya Sarkar. On the fuller side of things, turning away, blocked with a defensive blade in response.

34.1 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Soumya Sarkar. Extremely full on middle and off, so full that the ball has no space to turn. Sarkar flicks it to short mid-wicket.

33.1 1

Kedar Jadhav to Liton Das. Flatter and quicker in line of the stumps, pulled away to deep mid-wicket for one.

Some issue out in the middle. The batsman has a problem with the tape Jadhav has on his right palm. He's asked to take it off by the officials after a discussion with all parties involved.

Kedar Jadhav returns.

End of Over : 33 2 Runs BAN: 152/5
32.6 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Soumya Sarkar. Ooh.. Close. Wasn't that far away. Kuldeep lands it on middle and it spins away. Sarkar is on the back foot to defend but it goes past the outside edge and raps him on the thigh pad. The impact is outside off though.

32.3 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Some good drift on this from Kuldeep, on middle and off, blocked from deep inside the crease.

Soumya Sarkar to bat next.

32.2 W

Kuldeep Yadav to Mahmudullah. OUT! That's a good catch from Bumrah out in the deep. Bangladesh are suffering a bit of a collapse here. Tossed up around off, spinning in, it's quite slow through the air and Mahmudullah as a result doesn't connect well with the slog sweep. Skies it towards deep mid-wicket where Jasprit moves to his right and gobbles it up well, with a little slide at the end. The all-rounder could have avoided this shot as his side had lost wickets in a heap. The big boundaries in Dubai are proving fatal for Bangladesh.

32.1 1

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. The googly on middle and leg, Liton nudges it to square leg and both batsmen scamper through for the run.

End of Over : 32 1 Runs BAN: 150/4

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. Waits for the ball to come, opens the face and runs it down to third man for a single.

31.2 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. Good effort from Jaddu. Das plays a punchy-drive towards cover. It would have gone for runs but Jadeja dived full stretch to his left and stopped it.

31.1 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. Length delivery just outside off, cut hard but straight to point.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is brought back into the attack. He had a torrid first spell, can he make amends now?

28.5 0

Kedar Jadhav to Mahmudullah. The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.

28.4 1

Kedar Jadhav to Liton Das. Maiden ODI ton for Das! He was dropped twice but he has done really well to capitalize on it. Fullish ball on middle, knocked down to long on for a run. He lifts his helmet and soaks in all the applause. He however needs to carry on as his side is in a precarious situation.

28.3 4

End of Over : 28 1 Runs BAN: 139/4
27.6 W

Yuzvendra Chahal to Liton Das. OUT! Take a bow, Jadeja! He is one of the best fielders in the world if not the best. Tossed up ball in line of the stumps, Das drives it hard towards extra cover. Ravindra moves to his left in a flash and dives full length to stop the ball. Liton is guilty of ball watching as Mithun hares towards him. Jadeja first shapes to aim at the keeper's end but spots that both the batsmen are at the same end and hence, has the presence of mind to throw it back to Chahal who takes the bails off. Meanwhile, Liton got back in his crease first so Mohammad has to depart. Bangladesh have lost four wickets in a jiffy. Jubilation for the Men in Blue while agony for the Bangla Tigers.

27.5 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Liton Das. The batsman flicks it away with a wristy shot.

27.4 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Liton Das. Floated in line of the stumps, eased off the front foot towards mid on.

27.3 1

Yuzvendra Chahal to Mohammad Mithun. Driven towards the mid off region. One run added to the total.

27.2 0

Yuzvendra Chahal to Mohammad Mithun. Floated a bit wider outside off, Mithun goes for a booming drive but gets an outside edge past the vacant slip region towards short third man.

27.1 0

End of Over : 27 3 Runs BAN: 138/3
26.6 1

Kedar Jadhav to Mohammad Mithun. Tossed up on middle, driven down to long on for a run. Another productive over for India.

Mohammad Mithun is the next batsman in.

26.5 W

Kedar Jadhav to Mushfiqur Rahim. OUT! This is a big, big breakthrough for India! It is Jadhav again who has spun his web around the opposition. Coming back to the ball, it is short around off and is asking to be hit. Rahim camps back and goes for the big pull across the line but the only mistake he makes is that he picks out the deep mid-wicket fielder to perfection. Bumrah doesn't need to move an inch and takes it with ease. A disappointed Mushfiqur indicates to his partner that the ball hit his bat a bit higher than he would have liked. The ground in Dubai is pretty big and you need to give it your all if you want to clear the boundaries. Back at his home, that would have been a biggie. The pick of the batsmen for the Bangla Tigers fails this time. Bangladesh are losing their way.

The man who is in great form, Mushfiqur Rahim, comes out to bat.

23.5 W

Yuzvendra Chahal to Imrul Kayes. OUT! The impact is umpire's call and Kayes has to make the long walk back! Bangladesh don't lose the review but they lose another wicket in quick succession. Tossed up generously around off, Kayes leans ahead and tries to smother the spin but is hit flush on the pads. The Indians go up in unison and the umpire has no hesitation in raising his finger. Imrul walks gingerly to his partner and after some thought, challenges the decision. Time for the replays. The question is whether it brushes his front pad before hitting the back pad and that is where impact might come into question. Yes, it did kiss it. Hawk Eye rolls in and the impact is umpire's call, before going on to crash into the stumps. A great phase of play for India.

Seems like India have got another one. Kayes has been trapped in front of the stumps. Looks dead to the naked eye. The impact is the only thing which can save him.

Kedar Jadhav to Liton Das. Punched off the back foot by the batsman.

22.4 1

Kedar Jadhav to Imrul Kayes. Kayes clears his front leg and beats the diving fielder at extra cover with his drive. Takes a run and is off the mark.

20.6 0

Kedar Jadhav to Imrul Kayes. Darted in on middle and leg, tucked towards mid-wicket. A wicket and 4 from the over.

Imrul Kayes comes in to bat. He has been promoted up the order.

20.5 W

Kedar Jadhav to Mehidy Hasan. OUT! The man with the golden arm has struck gold for India! Jadhav bowls a tossed up ball around off and there is no pace on it. Mehidy rocks back and tries to cut it away but mistimes it completely. Rayudu at cover-point stands his ground and pouches it safely. Brilliant captaincy from Rohit Sharma. He deliberately didn't keep anyone out in the deep and Mehidy fell into the trap. A superb opening stand has been cut short, 120 to be precise. Is this the opening India needed?

20.4 0

Kedar Jadhav to Mehidy Hasan. The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.

20.3 2

20.1 1

19.5 0

Ravindra Jadeja to Liton Das. Short and wide, cut hard straight to backward point.

19.4 4

18.2 2

Kuldeep Yadav to Liton Das. Spinning away from around off, cut down late towards third man for two more.

18.1 1

Kuldeep Yadav to Mehidy Hasan. A little too full outside off, the ball doesn't even turn as Hasan drives it through to sweeper cover for a run.

Drinks break. A totally unexpected start from Bangladesh. Everyone thought early wickets would come, but the opening pair of Mehidy and Liton has powered past the three-figure mark, with the latter taking the charge and scoring a fifty. The Indian bowlers look clueless, and in desperate need of a wicket. They need one quickly too.

End of Over : 18 5 Runs BAN: 102/0
17.6 0

Ravindra Jadeja to Liton Das. Fuller and quicker on off, blocked safely from the front foot.

17.5 4

Ravindra Jadeja to Liton Das. FOUR! Plays this very late. Nicely done. Seeing the ball landing short, Das is on the back foot in a flash and cuts it late down to third man for a boundary. 16.4 1

Kuldeep Yadav to Mehidy Hasan. Safe! Not all that close after all. Mehidy works it just wide of short fine leg and both batsmen take off. Dhawan moves to his right, picks it up and fires it to the keeper who deflects it onto the stumps as Das slides his bat in. It's taken upstairs and replays show that Liton is well in. Dhoni's body language didn't show much confidence either, so that probably was a telling sign.

A run out chance! This could be touch and go. Dhawan's throw has been deflected onto the stumps by Dhoni. Over to the third umpire now...

16.3 0

Kuldeep Yadav to Mehidy Hasan. Floated up outside off, pushed straight to the man at cover.

Ravindra Jadeja to Liton Das. Knocks it down the ground to long off for one.

11.3 2

Ravindra Jadeja to Liton Das. DROPPED! Das gets a second reprieve in this innings. This should have been taken though. Jadeja floats this up on off, Liton is down on one knee to play the big slog sweep but gets a top edge as he can't make proper connection. It lobs up towards mid-wicket where Chahal tracks back, gets his hands to it but can't hold on. Two runs taken. Nobody is happy with that. Chahal might have suffered a concussion with that, as he fell on the back of his head after he fluffed the chance. Surprisingly, nobody's out to look at him.

2.4 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. Beaten! Short and wide, Liton goes for a flashy cut but misses. It was a similar shot to the one Mehidy played unsuccessfully. Needs to be careful in the initial stages.

2.3 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mehidy Hasan. Leg bye! Once again erring on the leg side, Mehidy tries to tuck it across but the ball brushes his thigh pad and rolls towards square leg. The batsmen steal a run.

2.2 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. Too straight for Bhuvi's liking. It is on a length on the hips and Liton helps it to fine leg to rotate strike.

1.4 4

Jasprit Bumrah to Mehidy Hasan. FOUR! Edged but safe! Mehidy would have had his heart in his mouth. A length ball on the fifth stump channel, seaming away. Hasan fishes at it away from his body and gets a thick outside edge. Dhawan at first slip dives to his right but the ball lands in front of him and goes past him to the fence. This is only the third boundary for the Bangladesh openers in the tournament in Powerplay 1.

1.3 0

0.6 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mehidy Hasan. Full length ball around off, a bit of nibble in the air. Mehidy comes forward and defends it nicely. A good start for Bhuvi, 3 from the first over.

0.5 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mehidy Hasan. In the same channel and on a same length outside off, shaping away after landing. Hasan plants his front foot across and lets it be.

0.4 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. DROPPED! That was a brilliant effort from Karthik though, would have been a stunner had that been taken. A good length ball outside off, Das tries to glide it down to third man but ends up playing it very fine. Dinesh at wide second slip dives full length, gets his fingertips to it but the ball bursts through. A run results.

0.3 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. On a length outside off, a bit of away seam movement. Liton hangs back and plays it with an angled blade towards backward point.

0.2 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mehidy Hasan. A bit fuller on the fifth stump channel and the ball swings away. Mehidy gets to the pitch of the ball and runs it down towards third man to get off the mark as well.

0.1 1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Liton Das. Starts off with a good length ball outside off, a hint of away shape on that. Das runs it past the wide second slip fielder and gets underway.

The teams are out for their respective national anthems. After the completion, we are all set to go. Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan will open the batting for Bangladesh. Surprise, surprise! Mehidy was the highest scorer for them in the previous game against India and hence, the decision to give him a shot at the top. Two slips in place. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to steam in with the first new ball. Here we go...

The big guns are back for the Men in Blue. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah return to the playing XI. KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Siddarth Kaul, Khaleel Ahmed and Deepak Chahar are the ones who miss out today.

Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza, credits his boys for the way they have performed so far. Adds that today is a big day and they have to give their best. Mentions that Mominul Haque misses out and the left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam comes in so they are going in with five bowlers. States that India are the no. 1 side but if they give it their all, anything can happen.

India skipper, Rohit Sharma, says that they will field first. Adds that they have done that throughout the tournament. Mentions that fielding first suits them and there is no reason to change that. States that they knew it will be a challenging tournament but his boys have responded brilliantly. Adds that this is the last hurdle to cross. Reckons that the first goal was to qualify for the final. Informs that the five guys who missed out in the last game are back.

TOSS - Mashrafe Mortaza calls tails but the coin lands as heads. India win the toss and opt to field.

PITCH REPORT - Ramiz Raza and Sunil Gavaskar are out in the middle assessing the surface. The former says that it looks very good for batting. Gavaskar adds that India will like this pitch. Feels that the ball tends to skid on better in the second half. Mentions there was some turn for the Afghan spinners in the last game here and also for Jadeja. Adds that the track might crumble a bit and it will aid the slow bowlers. States that Bangladesh used Sarkar very well with the ball. Reckons that they have strong desire and that will help them a lot in the final. Ends by saying that the batsmen will more or less enjoy themselves.

In the Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is), India have a 12-1 win record against Bangladesh. They had won the 2016 T20 final convincingly in Dhaka as well, so that will act as a psychological boost for them. Will the Men in Blue continue their domination or will we see Bangladesh touch the zenith of success today? The Bangla Tigers haven't won the trophy ever and it will drive them further. Expect an edge-of-the-seat encounter.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have good momentum on their side. Credit to them for reaching this far without their superstars, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. This is a team which believes in itself and though it took a bashing against India in the previous game, it can be taken lightly only at your own peril. The Bangla top order is a worry for them but today is perhaps the apt occasion for them to come out all guns blazing.

Six teams sweated it out in the grueling heat but two teams have held their own to come out with flying colors - India and Bangladesh. The Men in Blue have fired on all cylinders all through the tournament while it has been the persistence of the Bangla Tigers which has brought them to the finals of the Asia Cup. A tough-fought tie against Afghanistan augurs well for India and the big guns returning to the mix will only boost their confidence further.

End of Over : 50.0 IND: 223/7

That concludes our coverage for this year's Asia Cup. On one hand, two giant teams - Pakistan and Sri Lanka slipped, while on the other hand two not-so-giant-teams - Afghanistan and Bangladesh punched above their weight and reminded that they are no pushovers. Among all that, India emerged as the most dominant force and were the deserving winners. A last-ball finish in the final was the icing on the cake. On that note, we bid you farewell. Do join us for future games. Cheers!

Rohit Sharma now joins his teammates on the podium to receive the trophy. He then hands it over to the youngest member of the squad - Khaleel Ahmed. A tradition started by MS Dhoni. Some really happy faces there as the fireworks go up again. A team photograph follows and now every player is taking his turn to pose with the golden trophy. You can later check it out on their instagram or twitter accounts.

Victorious skipper, Rohit Sharma says that they played some good cricket throughout the tournament and this is a reward for that. Praises his players for handling the pressure of the final and mentions that crossing the line was a great effort. Credits Bangladesh for batting well and putting pressure on them. Lauds his spinners for pulling things back in the middle. With a team like that a captain will always look good, Rohit states with a big smile on his face. Signs off by thanking the crowd who came out in numbers to support India.

Bangladesh's skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says that they fought till the last ball but rues the mistakes they committed while batting and fielding. Feels that they were a few runs short but praises his bowlers for giving their all. On preferring Mustafizur Rahman to bowl the penultimate over, Mortaza replies that India were scoring almost every ball and it was important for him to keep a lid on it as he didn't want the spinner to be charged.

Man of the Tournament, Shikhar Dhawan says that it was a fantastic tournament for him and he enjoyed the way he batted and hopes to carry on with same class and consistency. Adds that he enjoys to bat freely and in a mature way. Says that Rohit's consistency at the top matters to him and they balance it out (by switching roles of aggressors) and congratulates his skipper for having a great Asia Cup with the bat.

Liton Das is awarded the Man of the Match for his superb knock with the bat. No interview taken. He must be disheartened that his maiden ODI ton has gone in a losing cause. Still, a great effort by him.

Ha ha! And here comes the main man! How could he be left behind? The man behind the scenes - Coach Ravi Shastri. He cannot hide his glee. Is not too bothered about what happened in England as this is a different format. Is pleased about the intensity shown by his lads. Admits that the team was a bit flat against Hong Kong but then pulled up its socks. On the positives, he identifies the ability to keep picking up wickets while feels the batting was brilliant. But for Mr. Shastri, the department which pleased him the most was India's fielding. Raves about how the fielders used to dive here and there to save crucial runs. Praises Rohit Sharma for his batting and even more, his captaincy skills. Especially, in this final, where he managed to get his team pick up all 10 wickets even after Bnagladesh were 120/0. And now finally, the presentation...

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is up for grabs as well. He says that the game against Hong Kong was a wake-up call for him. It was needed as he was coming from an injury. On wickets like these, he says that one needs to bowl tight lines and lengths, without giving any room to the batsmen and induce mistakes. On his combination with Bumrah, he says that the latter is an amazing bowler with his stocks rapidly rising.

Ravindra Jadeja is the next in line. Jaddu says that he was out of international cricket for almost 15 months and was not feeling too good about it. In hibernation, he says that he was just thinking about what he could do to come back into this side. And when he did get the chance, he did not want to lose it. Stresses further that he desperately wanted to prove himself.

Kuldeep Yadav now. He says that he was just asked by Jadhav to back himself while playing his shots and be careful while running. On the wicket, he says that it was a very good one to bat on. A bit on the slower side, he reckons. Feels he bowled really well and the batsmen found it difficult to pick his line. Later on, he corrected his length and got rewarded. On his batting, he says he has got lots of runs in First Class cricket, so he is a batting all-rounder.

Plenty of people to talk to tonight. Kedar Jadhav is the first of them. He says that he has been in this situation for quite a number of times in the last few months. Stresses that he was never under pressure as he was confident about the batting of Bhuvneshwar and Kuldeep. On his hamstring, he says he will need to assess it in a couple of days. And now, the million dollar question. 'Are you a batsman who can bowl or a bowler who can bat?' asks Kevin Pietersen with a wide grin. 'I think I am a batsman who can bowl', replies a sheepish Kedar.

Bangladesh must be praised for their efforts today. First their move to send Mehidy Hasan to open with Liton Das worked wonders, although the batting that followed disappointed. In the field, they managed to build pressure with accurate bowling but somewhere not having a target in excess of 250 proved to be their undoing. India also planned their chase with near perfection as they never allowed the required run rate to jump over 6, except on the fifth ball of the penultimate over. Rubel Hossain was the star with the ball and one can feel that their spinners let them down by not providing regular breakthroughs.

With MS Dhoni dismissed and Kedar Jadhav unable to move freely, the Indian team management decided to call him back and sent Bhuvneshwar Kumar to partner Ravindra Jadeja. In a way, that turned out to be the masterstroke as the pair put together a 45-run partnership to narrow down the target. Things later on got too close for comfort as Bangladesh showed great resolve by sticking in there. However, they didn't have enough runs on the board and in the hindsight not batting those 9 balls in their innings has hurt them badly.

Mahmudullah struck in the 31st over to remove Karthik and post that Kedar Jadhav came out with positive intent. But then he pulled his hamstring and it resulted in a slow rotation of strike. That pressure got to Dhoni and in an attempt to keep the asking rate under check, he played an uncharacteristic rash shot to get out off Mustafizur Rahman's bowling.

Seventh Asia Cup title for India! And they had to sweat hard to earn it. Chasing a target is never easy in a final and it looked a bit tough when they lost Dhawan and Rayudu quite cheaply. Rohit, however, showed his form and kept on scoring from one end. Along with Dinesh Karthik, the Indian skipper stitched in a partnership but once he fell, Bangladesh sniffed a chance. Although, MS Dhoni accompanied Karthik after that and steadied the nerves with a vital 54-run stand. These two planned the chase very nicely and at that stage, India were in control of the chase.

Fireworks all around the stadium! Smiles in the Indian dressing room. Mashrafe Mortaza is dejected. Bangladesh came close but have suffered yet another narrow defeat. What a game! Worthy of a finale. It went right down to the wire and India will be more relieved than happy to pull it off. This is also their 700th international win.

49.6 1

Mahmudullah to Kedar Jadhav. INDIA WIN BY 3 WICKETS! Mahmudullah fires in a full ball down the leg side, Jadhav swings his bat across the line but misses. However, the ball kisses his pads and races away towards fine leg. They cross for a leg bye and that will be it. INDIA ARE THE ASIA CUP CHAMPIONS!

Mahmudullah pulls out. Mind games.

49.5 1

Mahmudullah to Kuldeep Yadav. Scores are levelled! Flighted and on off, Yadav tries to sweep but misses. It goes off his pads towards backward point. Rahim runs across to his left and the batsmen cross over. Given as a run.

49.4 0

Mahmudullah to Kuldeep Yadav. DOT BALL! Mahmudullah bowls this with a slinging action. Darts it in full around off, Kuldeep pushes it out to covers.

49.3 2

Mahmudullah to Kuldeep Yadav. Excellent shot! Kuldeep goes down on one knee and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket. It falls in no man's land in the deep and they fetch a couple of runs. 2 needed off 3 balls.

49.2 1

Mahmudullah to Kedar Jadhav. They are doing it in singles. Smart. Bangladesh have their fielders on the boundary line for Jadhav and he just flicks it through square leg for a run.

49.1 1

Mahmudullah to Kuldeep Yadav. Sensible. Calm. Shows no pressure. Full and flighted around off, Kuldeep eases his drive through mid off and collects a single. More importantly for India, Kedar Jadhav is back on strike.

It indeed is Soumya Sarkar. He bowled one in the Nidahas Trophy final and conceded a six off the final ball. Redemption time? 6 needed off 6. Kuldeep Yadav on strike. Hold onto your breath, folks. Scratch all that. Mashrafe Mortaza has a change of heart. He has given the ball to Mahmudullah. Maybe, he got reminded of that final. Big gamble. Conference going on. Pressure written all over. Here we go...

End of Over : 49 3 Runs IND: 217/7
48.6 2

Mustafizur Rahman to Kedar Jadhav. Smashes and finds the gap. Shortish and outside off, angling away, Jadhav stays back and slams it through point. The fielder in the deep makes a tumbling stop and they take a couple. Rahim is not happy with the effort.

Kuldeep Yadav arrives.

48.1 W

Mustafizur Rahman to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. OUT! Great catch by Rahim! Kumar is not waiting, he immediately starts to walk. Rahman with the goods. He angles across a shortish delivery outside off, Kumar tries to force it through the line but gets a thick outside edge behind. Rahim reacts swiftly to his right and grabs the catch. He tosses the ball up in celebration and this game takes yet another turn. Too close for comfort, this.

Bangladesh seem to be short of options. Mustafizur is bowling out now. If this game goes down to the 50th over, who will bowl? Mehidy? Mahmudullah? Or like the Nidahas Trophy final - Soumya Sarkar?

End of Over : 48 4 Runs IND: 214/6
47.6 1

11 needed from 16 balls. KEDAR JADHAV returns. Seems all right as he is not limping. India will hope that he finishes things off quickly.

47.2 W

Rubel Hossain to Ravindra Jadeja. OUT! Snickometer detects a massive spike and Jadeja has to walk back. Needless from him. Do Bangladesh still have a sniff? It is all happening in Dubai. A ball before, Jaddu could have been run out. Next ball, he is gone. A length ball, in line of the stumps, moving away, Jadeja backs away slightly and looks to go through the off side. Seems to have missed it but Rahim behind has heard something. He immediately runs down towards the umpire in celebration and furiously signals for the review when the wicket is not given. And dear me - Snickometer proves him right!

Drama! Bangladesh look extremely confident. They reckon Jadeja has nicked it behind. Has he? The review has been taken by the fielding side.

47.1 2

Rubel Hossain to Ravindra Jadeja. Quick single. Back of a length delivery on off, Jadeja punches it down towards mid off and rushes across to the other end. His partner is ball-watching initially and when he turns, Jadeja was almost there, a near-collision. They avoid that and complete the run as the fielder misses his shy at the non-striker's end. More to it. No one has backed up the throw. An extra run stolen as well. The direct hit would have consumed Jadeja, the replays show.

End of Over : 47 5 Runs IND: 210/5
46.6 4

Mustafizur Rahman to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. FOUR! Welcome runs for India! Rahman errs in his line and bowls it down the leg side. 46.2 0

Mustafizur Rahman to Ravindra Jadeja. A bit shortish and on off, Jadeja punches it off his back foot to point, again. Two dot balls.

46.1 0

Mustafizur Rahman to Ravindra Jadeja. Dot ball to begin the spell. On a length around off, Jadeja taps it off his back foot to point.

Mustafizur Rahman is back on. He bowled a great spell against Afghanistan at the death to pull off a win. Can he do something similar tonight in the all-important finale?

45.3 6

Rubel Hossain to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. SIX! Ho! Ho! Ho! Pressure was building and Kumar has nailed his shot to release some of it, if not all. He attempted a similar one on the first ball but failed to connect then. Not this time. As soon as he gets one in his half, he makes room and lofts it nonchalantly over long off for a maximum. 20 needed off 27 balls.

45.2 0

Rubel Hossain to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. A bouncer around off, Kumar allows it through. Thought it will be called a wide for height but nothing from the square leg umpire.

45.1 0

Rubel Hossain to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Idea was right but not the execution. Full and around off, Kumar goes back and tries to hit it down the ground. Fails to middle it well. Mid on and mid off are up in the circle and that's why Bhuvi attempted that shot.

Rubel Hossain returns. 26 needed off 30 balls. Make or break moment, this.

End of Over : 45 6 Runs IND: 197/5

43.5 1

Interesting. The Indian team management has taken a bold decision. KEDAR JADHAV IS BEING CALLED BACK. Good call. You don't need batsmen getting out at the other end because of an injured batter at the crease. BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR comes in now. He can definitely bat. India need 56 from 72 balls.

Mustafizur Rahman to Ravindra Jadeja. Huge, huge appeal for LBW. Turned down. Mustafizur bowls a lovely indipper, gets it too full, Jadeja misses his flick and is hit on the pads. Everyone appeals but the umpire is calm. You know, sometimes I wonder, how great is team spirit. The man from cover comes running in and appeals vociferously. Wonder how would he see whether that was hitting the stumps or not. Anyways, just 2 runs and a wicket from the over, Mustafizur's figures read 7-0-28-1.

36.1 W

Mustafizur Rahman to MS Dhoni. OUT! Edged and taken! The Fizz removes the Finisher! Massive moment in the game. Well, with Jadhav struggling with his hamstring, Dhoni was cramped with regards to taking singles. Perhaps he thought he had to play the big shots now. Mustafizur lands this on a length outside off and gets it to move away a touch. Normally, Dhoni would just push it through the covers and get across to the other end. But here, with that pressure building on him mentally, he plays it very loosely, away from his body. Ends up getting a thick outside edge to the keeper. Bangladesh appeal but Dhoni does not even wait for the umpire's signal. 63 more needed from 83 balls.

A bit of a break. That stretching of the hamstring might just be a bit more serious than it actually looked. The Indian physio is out in the middle and helping Kedar with his stretching. For a moment, KJ looked alright but then sat down. The physio is strapping his right thigh for now. OKAY. He is ready now. What will we see? Big hits? No quick singles?

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dinesh Karthik. Full and outside off, driven towards mid off.

DRINKS ARE ONTO THE FIELD NOW. So far, so good in terms of the match. Not totally one-sided, at least till now. India still have Rohit in the middle but at least Bangladesh have got into the Indian middle order with the game still alive. As the great Geoffrey Boycott says - always look at the score by adding a couple of wickets. Hmmm... say 79/2 becomes 100/5 - different ball game then.

End of Over : 15 6 Runs IND: 79/2

Rubel Hossain to Rohit Sharma. MIX-UP, RUN OUT CHANCE, FUMBLE, SAFE!!! Everything happening out there. Pressure getting to both - batsmen and fielder. Nervy moment for both sides. Rohit drives it down the ground and initially calls for a single. Liton Das comes charging in from mid off and then suddenly, Mr.Sharma sends Karthik back. However, he continues to run further. There is a run out on offer but Das fumbles, thereby enabling DK to come back. Mid on then gets across and has a shy, seeing Rohit halfway down the track. However, he hits the stumps at the bowler's end but by then Karthik is in. By the time, the ball rolls towards the keeper, Rohit gets back safely.

End of Over : 14 6 Runs IND: 73/2
