Lasith Malinga to Shakib Al Hasan. OUT! Bowled 'em! The best exponent of bamboozling the batsmen is in the thick of things. Bangladesh have been rocked early and Shakib walks back dejected for a golden duck. Malinga steams in and bowls a full and fast delivery on off. It does a lot in the air as the ball swings back in appreciably. Shakib is late to bring his bat down as he tries to jam it across the line but misses it altogether to get his stumps shattered. The perfect start for Malinga and Sri Lanka this. He will be on a hat-trick in his next over.

Lasith Malinga to Liton Das. OUT! Malinga is off and running, what a start for him after a layoff of around 16 months. His team knows the importance of him performing this way and they barge towards him with big smiles on their faces. Coming back to the ball, it is in the avenue of apprehension and after landing, the ball seams away substantially. Das is opened up in his stance and pokes at it. Ends up getting a thick outside edge behind. Kusal Mendis at first slip gets low to his left and takes a fine catch before tumbling down. Das' comeback in the ODI side has been a fruitless one.

The players are out for their respective national anthems. After the completion, we are set to get rolling. States that it is really good to have Lasith Malinga back. Adds that he can hand the ball to him at crunch moments and tough circumstances. Wants his players to assess the wicket well. Ends by saying that the heat is terrible but they can't think of these things.

Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza, says that they will bat first. Mentions that it looks like a good wicket. Expects his bowlers to get some purchase later on. States that it is better to bat first, put up a good total and back his spinners to come to the party with the wicket expected to slow down a touch. Ends by saying that Tamim Iqbal and his bowlers did well in the West Indies and hopes they will continue to do so.

PITCH REPORT - Ramiz Raja says that the surface looks like a beauty. Mentions that there is no grass on the track and there will be hardly anything for the spinners too. States that it is a belter and the batsmen will enjoy themselves. Adds that there are a few cracks but they won't cause any trouble. Ends by saying that the dew can come into play in the later half of the game but informs that the groundsman feels that it won't be much of a concern.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have a good blend of youth and experience. Lasith Malinga coming back into the squad will boost their confidence by leaps and bounds. Their captain, Angelo Mathews, is in rich vein of form with the bat and will be aiming to lead from the front. Expect a cracker!
