Afghanistan vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 6th Match - T20 Commentary
Now then, the total is a mediocre one and Bangladesh should back themselves to chase this down. Afghanistan though do have the caliber to defend such totals. Can they do so and get back to winning ways or will Bangladesh head into the finals with winning momentum? Stay tuned to find out.
The Bangladesh bowlers did not begin in the best of manners but once again, once the ball got old, scoring became difficult. The spinners managed to not only take wickets in the middle overs but also choke the runs. The pacers too were handy after that. Afif was the pick as he had exceptional figures of 3-1-9-2. He was well supported by the other spinners too.
The story of today for the visitors was quite similar to the one yesterday. Their openers started off in a brilliant manner and added 75 and laid the foundation for a big score. Zazai fell three short of his half ton but ended up as the top scorer for his side. His wicket began the procession as Afghanistan slipped from 75 for 1 to 96 for 5. Not easy to recover after such a collapse in the shorter format. However, the visitors did manage to crawl above the 135-run mark which means they have something to bowl at.
End of another excellent bowling performance by Bangladesh but once again, Afghanistan's middle order fails to capitalize on the start given to them by their openers and hence, it is the hosts which head into the break as the happier side.

Mustafizur Rahman to Rashid Khan. NOT OUT! PITCHING OUTSIDE LEG! Rahman bowls a perfect yorker and Rashid looks to reverse sweep it but is nowhere in the position to play it and gets rapped on the pads. Mustafizur appeals as soon as the ball hits the pads but the umpire is unmoved. Shakib consults his bowler and then signals 'T'. The replays roll in and it shows that it's a legal delivery and there is also no spike on the Ultra Edge as the ball went past the bat. The only thing that can save Rashid is where the ball pitched. Hawk Eye comes in and yes the umpire was right as the ball pitched outside leg. Bangladesh lose the review.

However, we might see both the sides tinker with their XI a little. The two sides though will be eager to head into the final with winning momentum. Rain could play a part in the later half, hence Toss could become a crucial factor. Let's hope the rain stays away and we get a cracker of a match. Do stay tuned for the Toss and team updates.
That is it from this game! The hosts now head into the final with winning momentum on their side whereas, the visitors, after losing their last two games. All that now needs to be put behind though as the game that matters now, the Final, is what both the teams will want to win. It takes place on the 24th of this month at 1800 local (1230 GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care.

He adds that as soon as he felt he was 50 percent fit, he came in to bowl. Finishes by saying that they will try to work out these issues ahead of the finals.
Earlier in the day, the Afghans once again got off to a flier after being inserted. Zazai was the star for them with the bat. However, their middle order failed to make an impact once again and they were restricted to a score which was slightly under par. They did give it their all to defend the total but the difference between the two sides was Shakib Al Hasan. Stay tuned for the presentation in a while.
The Bangladesh bowling was brilliant to begin with as Naveen and Mujeeb took early wickets. But they dearly missed Rashid in the middle overs as he limped off clutching his hamstring. A lot was expected of Nabi at that moment but the veteran failed to deliver. Janat too did not have a day to remember despite him taking a wicket. Rashid did return, he did make an impact but it was his third over which went for 18 runs ended the hopes of Afghanistan coming on top in this game.
The chase though did not start in the best of manners for the hosts. They lost their openers early and were struggling big time till the 5th over. However, two boundaries from Shakib in the 6th over broke the shackles. He along with Rahim then put up a vital stand which took Bangladesh on top. However, a mini-collapse in between where the hosts slipped from 70 for 2 to 104 for 6 saw the visitors fight back into the game. Shakib though was the key and Afghanistan missed an opportunity when Shakib edged but the visitors failed to pick it and it cost them a lot. He along with Mosaddek, who played a decent hand, took Bangladesh over the line.
An excellent chase by Bangladesh in the end! The crowd is relishing the moment here. Shakib Al Hasan, their skipper, is the hero for them and they have managed to beat Afghanistan in a T20I game for the first time in 5 years.

Rashid Khan to Mosaddek Hossain. On the pads, pushed towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
Rashid Khan to Mosaddek Hossain. FOUR! Pierces the gap superbly between point and short third man. This was slightly short, Mosaddek stayed back and guided it nicely towards the third man fence. Important runs.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Mosaddek Hossain. A single to end another good over by Mujeeb. End of his spell tonight. He once again finishes with excellent figures of 4-0-19-1. His last ball is pushed towards cover for one.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Mosaddek Hossain. A couple! Top, top effort by Nabi. Excellent from the senior player. Leading from the front. This is slightly short and on middle, Mossadek goes back and pulls it hard in between deep mid-wicket and long on. Nabi in the former position runs to his left, dives and saves two for his side.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Mosaddek Hossain. NOT OUT! Mosaddek has got his foot down in time! A dot though which is gold dust at this stage. It is the googly from Mujeeb outside off. Mosaddek swings but misses. The keeper whips the bails off and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs again. Replays show that Mosaddek did lift his foot but he got it down in time. JUST!
A stumping appeal has been referred upstairs now. Is the back leg in the air?
Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Mosaddek Hossain. NOT OUT! Mosaddek is easily in. Two runs in the end and it is handy two runs. This is flatter and outside off. MH guides it towards short third man and the batters go for one. The fielder scores a bull's eye at the non-striker's end but the ball after hitting the stumps, deflects away from the bowler. The batters take another run. The bowler is appealing and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Mosaddek is fine.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman into the attack for his final over. Can he get a wicket or two to help Afghanistan's cause.
Rashid Khan to Mosaddek Hossain. Another top nut to end a top class over from Rashid. This is the googly on off, it turns back in. Mosaddek looks to defend but it goes off the inner half towards short fine leg for one.
Mosaddek Hossain is the next batter in for the hosts. He needs to support the skipper who is at the other end.
Rashid Khan to Afif Hossain. OUT! TIMBER! Second wicket for Rashid Khan. What a superstar this guy is. Just amazing. He is hobbling around but is still turning around the game for his side. Another Bangladesh batter plays a poor shot. Afif walks right across the stumps and looks to play the slog sweep but misses and the ball hits the leg pole. 35 needed in 25. Naveen-ul-Haq to Shakib Al Hasan. Top nut! Shakib makes room. Naveen follows the batter and bowls a yorker. Shakib fails to jam it out and the keeper dives to his right and stops it. Now then... there was an edge on this delivery, Ultra Edge does suggest so. There was no appeal from the bowler or the keeper though. Nobody must have heard anything there. Probably the crowd played its part by cheering out loud. Advantage of being the home side.
Naveen-ul-Haq to Shakib Al Hasan. Fifty for Shakib Al Hasan. 9th in T20Is. The skipper, like so many times in his career, is leading from the front. Excellent from him. He though holds the key for his side. He gets there by flicking this through square leg for two. A loud cheer from the crowd for their skipper.
Shakib pulls out at the very end. Maybe he was not ready there.
Naveen-ul-Haq to Shakib Al Hasan. Looks to bowl a slower one but this one is bowled down the leg side. He looks to flick but misses. Wided.
Naveen-ul-Haq to Afif Hossain. This is around off and it is angling away. Afif guides it down to third man for one. Gives strike to the man on 49.
Afif Hossain is the new batsman in.
Naveen-ul-Haq to Sabbir Rahman. OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Sabbir's return into the team is not a good one. Two wickets in quick succession and Afghanistan are fighting back into the game. The debutant is making a mark for himself here. It is his second and this is an important one as Sabbir, on his day, could be dangerous. A poor shot to be honest. This is bowled just outside off, not a lot of room on offer. Sabbir looks to guide it down to third man but only manages an outside edge to the keeper. 43 in 34 needed. Game on!
Naveen-ul-Haq to Shakib Al Hasan. Shorter and on middle, Shakib hops and pulls it through mid-wicket for one.

Sabbir Rahman is the new batsman in.
Rashid Khan to Mahmudullah. OUT! LBW! Rashid strikes! He didn't take too long to do that. He is limping as he celebrates the wicket. What a champion bowler. He is not worried about his own pain though. And he would want to take a few more to help his side win this one. Rashid darts this fuller on middle, Mahmudullah goes to reverse sweep but can't connect and is hit on the front pad. Rashid roars an appeal and the umpire agrees instantly. Mahmudullah asks his skipper about the DRS and then the duo decide against it. A good call from them as the replays show that the ball was hitting the timber.

Here comes the skipper! He is still limping but this should not hamper his bowling. He is inspiring his team here.
Karim Janat to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! Smashed! Janat goes short again and on middle, Shakib stays leg side of the delivery and smashes it past the bowler for a boundary. He is winning the game for his side single-handedly here.
Karim Janat to Shakib Al Hasan. Needless, very needless from Afghanistan, maybe they are just getting frustrated. This is short and on the body, it skids through. Shakib is a touch late in the shot. It goes towards mid off and the batters take one. The fielder has a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. No one backing up and the ball rolls towards fine leg. Another run taken.
There is a slight hold up in the game for some mysterious reason. Maybe a Drinks break. Wait, it is because there is some power issue with one of the floodlight. Let's hope the issue is resolved as soon as possible. Finally, the lights are back on and we are ready to go.
Karim Janat to Shakib Al Hasan. NOT OUT! Umpire's call it is! It is clipping the leg pole. Afghanistan do not lose a review. Not a bad review to be honest, yes, it was more in hope as it always seemed like it is going down leg. This one is full and on the pads, Shakib looks to flick but fails to put bat on ball. It flicks the pads and goes to the keeper. An appeal follows but the umpire shakes his head. The keeper and the bowler wants it to be reviewed and Afghanistan do so. Replays roll in and they show that the on-field call is the right one. Afghanistan are desperate for the wicket of Shakib. They somehow need to get him or he would take the game away from them. 55 needed in 44.
Review for LBW taken upstairs by Afghanistan as Shakib has been given not out. It looks close if it is pad first. Maybe going down the leg side.

Good length ball around off, Rahim drags his pull from outside off but can't connect it well. No distance on this one as Shafiqullah pouches this easily at deep mid-wicket. Mohammad Nabi to Mushfiqur Rahim. A couple now! Shorter and outside off, this is cut through point away from the sweeper for two.
Mohammad Nabi to Mushfiqur Rahim. In the air... dropped! Tarakai, the sub, has dropped a sitter. A bad, bad moment for him, probably a chance for someone who is not playing in the XI to make a contribution and Tarakai does not grab that opportunity, Big let off for Rahim and this could prove costly. Also, the visitors needed a wicket, a chance is produced but it is not grabbed. The shot though can be questioned here. What was Rahim doing? Having got 6 from the first three balls, something fancy need not be done. He though still comes down the track but fails to get to the pitch of it. He tries to go over mid-wicket but gets a top edge which goes high up in the air towards deep mid-wicket where Tarakai spills it. Two taken by the batters.

Mohammad Nabi to Mushfiqur Rahim. A couple but more importantly Rashid seems to have pulled his hamstring. Worrying signs for Afghanistan.
