Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe Highlights And Cricket Score 5th Match - T20 Commentary
Now then! The target is a one which can be achieved but the Afghans are a top bowling side so it will take some good batting. Will Masakadza win his last game or will Rashid's birthday turn out to be a special one? Join us in a while to find out.
The Zimbabwe bowling was poor to begin with! They had no answers to the carnage by the openers but did extremely well to pull things back after the Powerplay. Mpofu was the pick as he finished with the 4-fer. Tinotenda Mutombodzi was also very good during the middle overs and he along with the other spinners were the ones who applied the breaks.
The Afghan innings started superbly as their openers got off to a flyer, smashing a 83-run stand for the first wicket. But since then, it has been a downward slide for the Afghanistan side. They failed to stitch partnerships and got out to some poor shots too. The middle order failed miserably due to which, they fell way short of where they could have got at one stage.
Zimbabwe have done extremely well to pull back things and the game is evenly poised at the half way mark. Afghanistan though would be quite disappointed with their performance. They were all set at one stage to get close to the 180-run mark but they have fallen well short of what they once looked like they would achieve.

Hamilton says that he would've loved to play the finals but it is still an important game and adds that the side is ready to go. On being asked about what is riding this game, Masakadza says that he would want to end the series on a high and would want to register their first win against the Afghans.

PITCH REPORT - Conditions are pretty similar to the last game. The same pitch was used in the last game of the series as well. The pitch has been watered but still looks dry. We can get some inconsistent bounce due to the dry surface. Not a lot of grass on the surface. Win the toss and put a decent total on the board he recommends.

TOSS - It is toss time in Chattogram, both the captains are out there and up goes the coin. It lands in Afghanistan's favour and they have chosen to bat.
Hello and a warm welcome to the 5th match of the tri-series between Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe, have not turned up at all in this series losing all their matches so far. This is their skipper Hamilton Masakadza's last match in Zimbabwean colors and will look to end on a high with a win. A win here though will be nothing but a consolation and it will be a good end to their skipper's career. Afghanistan, on the other hand, are on a roll, winning the two matches that they have played so far. They are already into the finals but will want to continue their winning momentum. It is their superstar, Rashid Khan's 21st birthday and a win here will be a good present for him. Is there a surprise in store? Stay tuned to find out.
So that is it from this game! A fitting farewell then for Masakadza and also, Zimbabwe end the series on a high. However, we have two more games left in this series, one, the game before the finals which is a clash between the two teams playing the finals. The former is on the 21st of September and it begins at 1830 local (1230 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!

It's time for the Afghanistan skipper to talk about the game. Rashid starts by saying that they had a great start but couldn't finish it the way they should have. First up, the Zimbabwe skipper Hamilton Masakadza gets a memento for his contribution for the relations between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. He also gets a memento from Zimbabwe Cricket for his contribution to the game.
Earlier in the day, the Zimbabwe bowlers did extremely well to pull things back after they were taken to the cleaners in the first half of their innings with the ball. That effort in the second half kept Zimbabwe in check and the Rhodesian side bagged their first win of the tournament. Stay tuned for the presentation.
The Afghanistan bowling looked off color today. Maybe they were a touch complacent. None of their bowlers looked at their best. When only one of their spinners takes a wicket, you probably know they haven't been at their best. Overall, not something Rashid Khan will be happy with.
Chasing a total which we thought would be tricky on a wicket which is slightly slow, the Zimbabwe team have done it quite easily. Right from the word go they looked in control of the chase. First, it was the openers who got them off to a brisk start. Then, Chakabva and Masakadza continued the good work with another excellent stand. The skipper got to his fifty, he would have wanted to stay there till the end but could not do so. Chakabva also perished but till then, the game was completely in Zimbabwe's favor. Williams and Mutombodzi ensured there were no more wickets to fall and they took the team over the line.
What a way to end your career! It is under his captaincy, Zimbabwe beat Afghanistan for the first time in T20Is. It is under his captaincy, the long winning streak in T20Is for Afghanistan has been broken and majority of the credit has to be given to Masakadza as he is the hero for his side in this chase.
