Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has been in hot water ever since he hurt racist comments to Andile Phehlukwayo during the ODI series against South Africa. His words were captured in the stump mic and thus the ICC slapped him with a four-match ban. Shoaib Akhtar also condemned the act and this did not go down well with the Pakistani captain and had slammed the former pacer and said that he was passing personal comments. However, Sarfraz reverted to him saying: “He [Shoaib Akhtar] is not criticizing, he is attacking me personally.” Defending himself, Akhtar insisted that he was talking in the best interest of the game and had no intentions of any personal attack. Post this, Ahmed apologised to Akhtar, saying that he hopes the Rawalpindi Express will keep supporting Pakistan cricket. “I have nothing against @shoaib100mph, if he is hurt due to my reactionary comments then I say sorry to him. Earlier the Pakistani skipper was expected to the play the last T20I against South Africa but since the PCB called him back to Pakistan, he won’t be featuring in the series. Prior to this, Ahmed had issued a public apology and even went on to say sorry to Andile Phehlukwayo on a one-on-one basis.
