Sarfaraz Khan Became just second batsmen in ongoing 2019-20 Ranji Trophy to smash a triple hundred. The 22-year old joined Manjo Tiwary as the only two batsmen to have scored a triple century in this season’s Ranji Trophy season. Tiwary has slammed a triple ton for Bengal against Hyderabad on Monday. Sarfaraz thus became the seventh player from Mumbai to smash a triple century in Ranji Trophy history. The right-handed batsman also overtook Tiwary for the highest score slammed in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. Sarfaraz reached his triple hundred in 390 deliveries and his innings comprised of 30 boundaries and 8 maximums over the fence. Coming to bat with Mumbai struggling at 128/4, Sarfaraz first shared a 210-run stand for the 5th wicket with Siddesh Lad (98) before stitching another century-run partnership with captain Aditya Tare (97) to help Mumbai take a 1st inning lead against Uttar Pradesh. Mumbai declared their innings immediately after Sarfaraz had reached his milestone. Sarfaraz remained not-out on 301 from 390 deliveries having helped Mumbai take a 63-run lead in the 1st innings.
