The cricketing world has been going gaga over the spooky resemblances that team Pakistan has had so far in the CWC 2019. After Pakistan went on to beat New Zealand in the CWC 2019, the Men in Green stayed in the hunt of the semi-finals of the tournament. Even the official account of the World Cup tweeted about the same as the tiniest of the details have matched the script of 1992 World Cup. Now, politician Shashi Tharoor has gone one step further and joked about how the Pakistani captain could handle the reins of the country on 2045 i.e. 26 years down the line. Pakistan Hands Over a Shocking Defeat to New Zealand in ICC CWC 2019; Cricket World Cup Draws Spooky Parallels Between CWC 2019 & 1992
"This is so weird and it just got weirder: Pakistan won their 7th game, against a hitherto undefeated NewZealand! Does this mean they will win #CWC2019? Or as a wag suggested, that @SarfarazA_54 will become PM of Pakistan 26 years from now?" tweeted Shashi Tharoor. Pakistan still needs a couple of victories to say in the tournament.

In both the editions of the World Cup, Pakistan began their campaign with a loss over West Indies. In both the years, it was Sohail who played a vital role in the team’s victory in the sixth game of the tournament. In 1992 it was Aamir Sohail and in 2019 it was Harris Sohail who helped the team. In both the editions, Pakistan won the seventh match with five balls to spare. In 1992 and 2019, the Men in Green broke the unbeaten streak of the Kiwis. With a couple of must-win games for Pakistan, the fans must be expected the history of 1992 to repeat itself. Sarfaraz Ahmed and men today is all set to take on Afghanistan today at the Headingley Stadium in Leeds.
