The West Indies team chased down the total of 106 to win in just 13.4 overs. Chris Gayle scored 50 off 33 balls and hit three sixes to become the batsman with most number of sixes in ICC Cricket World Cups, going past South Africa's AB de Villiers. The only positive for Pakistan in the match was that Mohammad Amir looked back in form and picked up three wickets in the match, but in vain as West Indies registered a thumping victory.
