Tendulkar has always considered Gavaskar a role model and an inspiration for him throughout his career. There were also a lot of comparisons between the two as Sachin himself broke many records held by the little master but the highest run-scorer in international cricket always rated Gavaskar above himself and on several occasions, he has also expressed his admiration towards the former cricketer.
