Kalam, who is greatly credited for his immense contribution to the country, was born on October 15, 1931. Tendulkar shared Kalam's photo in his tweet. Calling him an inspiration for our future generations, the 46-year-old wrote, “Shri #APJAbdulKalam dedicated himself selflessly to the service of our nation. He engaged with the youth till his last breath, and will continue to remain an inspiration for our future generations. Remembering the 'Rocket Man' of India on his birth anniversary”. Remembering APJ Abdul Kalam!

Some other cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan also remembered Kalam on his 88th birthday anniversary. Kalam is recognised for his contribution to make India a full-fledged nuclear state. As an ISRO scientist, he led a number of key space projects. He also wrote many books. Known as ‘Missile Man of India’, Kalam was felicitated with Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan by Indian Government. On July 27, 2015, Kalam collapsed due to cardiac arrest while giving a lecture at Indian Institute of Management Shillong. He took his last breath at the age of 83.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar is quite active on social media. He regularly wishes his fans on the occasion of festivals and also lauds other cricketers on their birthdays and retirements. Tendulkar retired from cricket in November 2013 and is an active commentator at present.
