It’s former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja’s birthday. The former Indian batsman turns 48 on Friday, February 01. To make his birthday special, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to Instagram and shared a birthday post for Ajay Jadeja. “Wishing you a very happy birthday, @travelermaan (Ajay Jadeja’s Instagram handle). Keep smiling the way you have always,” wrote Tendulkar in the caption of the picture. Ajay Jadeja, who last played an international match, is nowadays seen as an expert on various TV channels.

Ajay Jadeja represented India in 15 Tests and 196 One-Day Internationals (ODIs). The right-handed batsman was an ODI specialist and has six centuries and 30 fifties against his name in 50-overs cricket. In ODIs, the 48-year-old averaged over 37 and scored 5359 runs. Ajay Jadeja throughout his career batting across various positions and even opened the innings for India. Ajay Jadeja was handed a five-year ban in December 2000 for his alleged role in match-fixing. And that brought an end to his career. He then tried his luck in acting as well and featured in two Bollywood movies namely; Khel and Pal Pal Dil Ke Ssaat.

Ajay Jadeja holds the record of third-highest partnership for any wicket for India in ODIs with former captain Mohammad Azharuddin. The duo added unbeaten 275 runs for the fourth wicket against Zimbabwe in Cuttack in 1998. It, however, remains the highest fourth-wicket partnership for India in ODIs.
