Sachin Tendulkar vs Virat Kohli: Sreesanth Picks his Favourite Cricketer, Watch Video
The Kohli vs Tendulkar debate is not going to die down anytime soon and the cricket world will continue to be divided over it.
Apart from making sexist comments on Koffee With Karan 6, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya received flak on social media for choosing Virat Kohli as a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar. The question was asked by Karan Johar during the rapid fire round. The answer obviously did not go down well with fans and they bashed the cricketers for the same on social media. Now, in an exclusive interview with LatestLY former Indian cricketer, Sreesanth was asked to pick one from Virat and Sachin. The Bigg Boss 12 participant went on to say that one cannot compare the God of Cricket with a human being.
“Everybody calls him Sachin bhai but I address him (Sachin Tendulkar) as paaji for a reason. I respect Virat for whatever he has done but Sachin paaji can never be replaced or can never be compared to any other new or old cricketer. Sachin Tendulkar for the next 1000 generation will be someone who gave hope to the small cricketers like me never even thought that I could play club cricket,” said Sreesanth. He also talks about his moments with the Master Blaster during the 2011 World Cup. EXCLUSIVE: Did Sreesanth Accidentally REVEAL The Deets of Dipika Kakkar’s Next Project on Colors after Bigg Boss? Watch Video.
Sree also spoke about the sexist comments made by Pandya and KL Rahul on the show and said that the cricketers have realised their mistakes. On one hand where a lot of people are saying that things done off the field should not be counted. The former Indian pacer had opposite views. He went on to say that a cricketer is respected because you are somebody on the field.
As far as records are concerned, Kohli is fast catching Tendulkar. Kohli after his century in the Sydney ODI became the third batsman with most international centuries. Kohli now has 64 centuries and only Ricky Ponting (71) and Tendulkar (100) are ahead of him. It was also Kohli’s 24th ODI century while chasing and is way ahead of Tendulkar, who during his career scored 17 centuries.
Apart from it, Kohli is nearing Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in ODIs. The current Indian skipper has 39 centuries against his name and is likely to go past Tendulkar in coming years. Well, the Kohli vs Tendulkar debate is not going to die down anytime soon and the cricket world will continue to be divided over it.
