Sachin Tendulkar took to social media site Twitter to post his message for the fans ahead of Asian Games 2018.
Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has urged fans to support Indian athletes participating at the Asian Games 2018. The multi-sport event starts today with the opening ceremony at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) main stadium in Jakarta. The sports activities at the Asian Games 2018, however, will begin from August 19 onwards and the games will end on September 02. Meanwhile, Tendulkar took to social media site Twitter to post his message for the fans. Tendulkar, in his post, requested fans to follow the Indian athletes at the Asian Games 2018. “The #AsianGames2018 are here. The best way we can support our athletes representing India is to watch them do what they do best. Let’s show them our true mettle and with pride bring home some metal, guys!” wrote Tendulkar.
Neeraj Chopra, Commonwealth Games gold medallist, will be India's flag-bearer at the Asian Games 2018 opening ceremony. In the last edition of Asian Games, which was held in Incheon in 2014, India managed to bag 57 medals (11 gold, 10, silver and 36 bronze) and finished eighth on the medals tally. At the 2010 Asian Games, India had secured 65 medals.
