Tendulkar shared a heart-warming post on Twitter to pay tribute to his cricket mentor Ramakant Achrekar, who died in January this year. Sachin's post got hundreds of retweets and also earned over 8000 likes in just one hour. Former Indian cricketer's Twitter post consisted of an old black-and-white photo of Achrekar with him. Sachin had always been very grateful to his late coach, who taught him the basics of cricket during his school days. Archekar, who died on January 2, 2019, was conferred with Dronacharya Award and Padma Shri in 1990 and 2010 respectively. Sachin is also very active on social media. Recently, he also wished Jasprit Bumrah for bagging hat-trick during India vs West Indies 2nd Test.
Sachin retired from cricket on November 14, 2013, after scoring record 34,357 runs in his international career. The 46-year-old made many records in the game of cricket, some of which are still unbroken. India celebrates Teachers’ Day on September 5 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India.
