Joining the bandwagon of celebrities urging to vote in the 2019 Indian general election (Lok Sabha Elections 2019) is Sachin Tendulkar. The former Indian cricketer shared a video on his Instagram account earnestly asking everyone to go out and cast a vote. Mumbai residents will vote in the final phase of the 17th Lok Sabha Polls on April 29. Tendulkar took to Instagram to share an important message during the election. He captioned the video “The right to vote is the gift of democracy. Let us all go out and VOTE!” The 46-year-old popularly addressed as ‘God of Cricket’ is quoted saying, “We all should go out and vote. On 29th, it won't be just me and Anjali. Sara Tendulkar is 21 while her younger brother is 19. The celebrity siblings are first-time voters, and just like lakhs of first-time voters, it is going to be one memorable experience for them. Sara, an alumnus of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, is currently studying at University College London, while her brother is following his father’s footsteps to make it big in cricket.

Earlier on April 24, Sachin celebrated his 46th birthday with friends and families. His fans, well-wishers and former teammates from Indian cricket wished him on social media platforms.

Coming back to Mumbai elections, all the seven parliamentary constituencies of Mumbai, along with the neighbouring Lok Sabha seat of Thane, would be going to polls on Monday, April 29. The battle here is primarily between the Congress-NCP combine taking on the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition. In the 2014 elections, the saffron camp had clean swept the entire Mumbai region.
