Mumbai, July 19: A "tantrik" (occultist) allegedly pierced multiple needles into the head of a 19-year-old woman in Odisha's Balangir district. The woman approached the "tantrik" to get rid of a four-year-long prevailing disease. Reportedly, the woman was not in a conscious state during the so-called treatment by the occultist. The woman was admitted to the hospital and is undergoing treatment. Later, a complaint was registered against the occultist, and he was arrested.

According to a report by India Today, the woman identified as Reshma had been suffering from a health condition for the past four years. During the session, the occultist, identified as Santosh Rana, took Reshma to another room on pretext of treatment. Allegedly, he performed a bizarre procedure, embedding needles into her head while she was unconscious. Later, the family discovered the needles and removed eight of them themselves before taking her to the hospital. Upon discovering this, the family immediately filed a case against the occultist, leading to his arrest. Investigations are currently underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Further investigation is underway.
