The day started off with the team management of the Rajasthan Royals being extremely ruthless by making the biggest change in the middle of the IPL 2019 tournament. It started off with the sacking of Ajinkya Rahane as the skipper and Steve Smith stepping into his shoes for the remaining season of the IPL 2019. This surely garnered them with a 6 wicket win and a couple of points on the table at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl. Quinton de Kock gave a blistering start to team MI as he scored 50 runs for the team and titbits from others helped the team reach a total of 161 runs. RR beat MI by 5 wickets.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, had a good as compared to the Mumbai Indians but lost Ajinkya Rahane quite early in the game after making 12 runs. Sanju Samson who looked good also made way to the pavilion on the score of 35 runs. The team lost wickets back to back and was under severe pressure. But Riyan Parag and Steve Smith stood tall and made 70 runs for the team. While the 17-year-old Parag missed out on his half-century, Steve Smith brought up his 7th IPL 50 and remained not out on 59 runs. Both the batsmen have a lion’s share in contributing to the success of Rajasthan Royals.
