RR vs CSK Highlights IPL 2020 Match 4: Rajasthan Royals Beat Chennai Super Kings by 16 Runs

Despite not having Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes in the team, Rajasthan Royals have defeated Chennai Super Kings in their first match of Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). It was a Sanju Samson show in the first innings as the wicket-keeper took the CSK bowling line-up by storm and scored 74 off just 32 balls. He was well supported by skipper Steve Smith and Jofra Archer who also played crucial knocks. Riding on their efforts, RR posted 216/7 while batting first. Chasing the mammoth total, CSK never looked in the hunt as their scoring rate was always on the lower side. Leg-spinner Rahul Tewatia dented Chennai's middle order with his three-wicket haul as the result of the game looked inevitable. However, Faf du Plessis wasn't going to put his guards down as he scored a fighting fifty. Skipper MS Dhoni also smashed three sixes in the last over to send his fans in nostalgia. Rajasthan Royals Win By 16 Runs! Staggering start by Steve Smith and Co in Dream11 IPL 2020. They were clinical in all the departments as the three-time champions face their first defeat of the season. MS Dhoni, however, smashes Tom Curran for three consecutive but it was too late for the Men in Yellow.

OUT! Faf du Plessis is gone and so are CSK's outside chances of winning the game. Just after smashing a six, the Proteas star gets bamboozled by a quick bouncer from Jofra Archer and Sanju Samson takes an easy catch behind the stumps. Faf du Plessis isn't going to put his guards down. He smashes Jofra Archer for yet another maximum but will it be enough for Chennai Super Kings? The Proeas stars is not receiving great support from his skipper MS Dhoni who's scoring less than a run-a-ball. Meanwhile, CSK need 48 from the last two overs.

The run rate has gone over 20 now and CSK aren't  likely to defy the odds this time. Faf du Plessis, however, has smashed Jaydev Unadkat for three sixes in the over  to keep his in the hunt. He also gets to his fifty. On the other hand, MS Dhoni isn't looking comfortable in the middle and he needs to open his arms. CSK need 58 runs from 18 balls. 

Jofra Archer introduced back in the attack with CSK facing an uphill task. Faf du Plessis manages to get a boundary off his over but it doesn’t look like helping the Men in Yellow. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is yet to find his first boundary. Chennai Super Kings need 79 runs off 24 balls.

Rahul Tewatia comes out to bowl his last over and Faf du Plessis welcomes him with a six over long on. Meanwhile, skipper MS Dhoni is the new man in for Chennai Super Kings and many eyes are on him regardless the result of the game. Kedar Jadhav finally breaks the shackles as he smashes Shreyas Gopal for three consecutive boundaries. Much needed runs for CSK. However, they need many more of those as the required run rate is approaching 15. Meanwhile, 100 up for the Men in Yellow.

Kedar Jadhav is the new man in for Chennai Super Kings and he joins Faf du Plessis. The Men in Yellow can't afford to lose any more wicket but the required run rate and gone over 13. CSK in all sorts of trouble now. Meanwhile, Shreyas Gopal gives just five runs from the 10th over.

OUT! Ruturaj Gaikwad comes and goes. The debutant tries to go for the glory off his first ball but misses the ball by a mile and Sanju Samson executes another easy stumping. Tom Curran comes out to bowl the last over of powerplay. However, Shane Watson welcomes him with a couple of giant sixes. Murali Vijay break the shackles after two quite overs. The opener smashes Jaydev Unadkat for two consecutive boundaries and the Chennai Super Kings take a sigh of relief. Nevertheless, the left-arm pacer makes a good comeback and minimises the damage. 11 runs from the over. CSK off to a steady start but they need to have an eye on the scoring rate.
