The franchises have announced the list of players they are going to retain ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2025 and Rajasthan Royals are no different. They have some big names in the retentions list. The IPL governing council allowed the franchises to retain a maximum of six players. They also specified that a maximum of five capped players and two uncapped players can be retained. Based on that, RR have used their full retentions slots as they have retained Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer and Sandeep Sharma. IPL 2025 Mega Auction Likely to Take Place in Riyadh on November 24 and 25: Report.
One of the top contenders for the IPL 2024 title was Rajasthan Royals (RR) with their consistent performance. The team finished third in the IPL 2024 standings even after a poor start to the campaign. IPL 2008 winners struggled in later seasons with KKR, MI, and CSK dominating the league. But 2023 was a different story as RR with a balanced line-up managed to topple different opponents with ease. The IPL has set minimum deductions from the auction purse for each player retained - INR 18 crore for the first player and so on till the last capped and uncapped player retention, Rajasthan Royals will have to focus on ‘the balance’ that put them in control in the recent season.
