Rohit Sharma hit his first double century in ODI cricket against Australia in Bangalore when he smashed 209 off 158. The innings consisted of a world record 16 sixes with the Aussie bowlers struggling for cover. India reached 383/6 in what turned out to be a fantastic game of cricket where the Australian team came very close to chasing down the total eventually losing by 57 runs. With this victory, India also registered a series victory against the mighty Oz.
264 vs Sri Lanka – 2014
Hitman Rohit Sharma made the highest individual score of 264 in ODI against Sri Lanka in 2014 at the Eden Garden. Opening the innings, Sharma needed only 173 balls to reach to this feat hitting 33 boundaries and nine sixes.
