ICC Women's World T20 2018 starts tonight in the West Indies. India is one of the ten teams participating in the tournament and in the first match, the women’s team will be up against New Zealand. India have never won the World T20 title and at this year’s edition, the team will be looking to clinch their maiden T20 trophy. As India gears up to take on White Ferns, Indian men’s cricket team opener Rohit Sharm has wished girls “all the very best.”
Rohit took to social networking site Twitter and uploaded a video. “Best wishes to our women’s cricket team for the T20 World Cup, who will be taking on New Zealand cricket team tonight. I am very optimistic for this one. And I am sure they gonna bring glory to our country. All the very best.,” Rohit said. India are placed in Group B alongside three-time champions Australia, New Zealand, traditional rivals Pakistan and Ireland. After the match against New Zealand, India will face rivals Pakistan on Sunday. India’s best finish at the ICC World T20 came during the first two editions in 2009 and 2010 when they finished as the semifinalists. Since then, the Indian Women’s team has failed to go past the first round.
