Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Likely To Feature in Duleep Trophy 2024-25 Ahead of India vs Bangladesh Test Series: Report

Big Indian names such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are very likely to play in the Duleep Trophy beginning from September 5 ahead of the two match Test series against Bangladesh. Many other players are also expected to feature in the four team zonal competition.

Rohit Sharma led India national cricket team will be playing against Bangladesh in a two-match Test series from September 19. The Test series will be very important from the perspective of the World Test Championship. The Indian team is currently ranked at the top of the World Test Championship 2023-25 table and they will hope to strengthen their position by defeating Bangladesh as well. As per a report by Indian Express, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are very likely to feature in the Duleep Trophy beginning from September 4. Other than Virat and Rohit, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Surykumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav are also expected to play in the major Indian domestic competition. Jasprit Bumrah is likely to get an extension in his rest period and may not feature in the tournament. Bumrah who has had a long history of injuries may straight away feature in the Bangladesh Test series. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami, who is undergoing his rehabilitation period in the NCA, Bengaluru may also join the Indian squad for Tests against Bangladesh.

The Duleep Trophy will consists of four teams including India A, India B, India C and India D. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee will be picking the squad for the zonal competition.
