The deteriorating quality of the air in Delhi has been in the news for a few days now. The first game between India and Bangladesh will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Ahead of the first T20I which will be hosted in the capital city, Liton Das was seen sweating it out in the nets wearing a mask. The other members of the Bangladeshi team were seen practising without a mask. Now, Rohit Sharma who has just landed in the capital city has said that he will assess the situation of the pollution closely ahead of the first game. While speaking to Republic TV after asking if the Indian team would also be wearing similar masks the Indian opener said,” I’ve just landed in Delhi, I haven’t had the time to assess the situation and as far as we know the match is scheduled for November 3rd and today is 30th. So have time to assess the situation.” Virat Kohli has been rested for the three-match T20I series and Rohit Sharma will be handling the reins of the team.
He also spoke about handling the reins of the team and mentioned that he is not losing sleep over the decision and is not bothered that he has been asked to captain the side for one series or more than one. The first game will be held on November 3rd 2019 at 7.30 pm.
