Rohit Sharma, who started as a Test opener with the series, has broken multiple records with his performance in the India vs South Africa Test series. He smashed a 176-run knock in the 1st innings of 1st Test and 127-run knock in the 2nd innings. In the third innings, he even went higher with a double century (212). The right-handed batsman also scored most runs in a single India vs South Africa Test series. Meanwhile, India smashed 497-9 in the first innings of IND vs SA 3rd Test in Ranchi. India declared after an astonishing cameo by Umesh Yadav, who smashed five sixes to conclude the innings. He scored 31 runs in 10 balls before getting out. At the stumps of Day 2, South Africa were trailing by 488 runs with 9/2 on the scoreboard.
