Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has not played a single match since India’s heartbreaking loss against New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The wicket-keeper batsman has yet not revealed his comeback date and his future is has become a hot topic in the cricket fraternity. Many speculated that the 38-year old might call it a day from cricket but India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma has dismissed all the claims of Dhoni’s retirement. Rohit Sharma addressed the reporters ahead of the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. On being asked about the rumours regarding MS Dhoni’s retirement, the 32-year old gave a befitting reply to the reporter and said “We don’t hear anything about these things. You guys make these things up.” Dhoni has been out of the action since the last three months and his to the cricket field is still not clear. With the ICC World T20 2020 just one year away, it will be interesting to see whether the veteran will play the showpiece tournament or not. Talking about India vs Bangladesh T20I series, Rohit will lead the Men in Blue in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. India’s regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested from the series and will be seen in action during the Test series. Other then Kohi, players like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhunveshwar Kumar will also not participate in the series. So, the three-match rubber is a great opportunity for the youngsters to put some great performances and cement their spot in the team.
