Rohit Sharma smashed his third century of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 during the India vs England game at Edgbaston. The century, which came off 106 deliveries was also Sharma’s 25th hundred in ODIs and comprised of 15 fours. Sharma reached the figure in the fourth delivery of the 35th over. His knock came from 106 deliveries and included 15 boundaries. Unlike most of Rohit’s earlier centuries, this was very hard-working especially with the right-handed opening batsman struggling in the initial stages. He had earlier scored centuries against South Africa (122*) and Pakistan (140) to guide India to victory in both these matches. Rohit now has scored 440 runs in just six innings making him the sixth highest-scoring batsman in CWC 2019. David Warner on leads the list with 516 runs from eight innings, while fellow Australian skipper Aaron Finch is second in the list with 504 runs. Earlier, England powered by Jonny Bairstow’s (111) maiden ODI century set India a record run chase. The hosts posted a massive 337/7 total on board after winning the toss and opting to bat first. In reply, India were off to a worse start having lost opener KL Rahul for a nine-ball duck to Chris Woakes. But Rohit in the company of Kohli (66) steadied the ship by stitching a 138-run partnership for the second wicket.  Kohli was then removed by Plunkett but Rohit has gone and smashed another record in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
