Rohit Sharma Refuses to Comment on the Farookh Engineer’s Statement on Anushka Sharma & Selection Committee Ahead of IND vs BAN 1st T20I (Watch Video)

The Indian team is all set to take on Bangladesh in the first T20I tomorrow in Delhi. It is Rohit Sharma who will be handling the reins of the team in absence of Virat Kohli as the Delhi based batsman has been rested for the shorter format of the game. Ahead of the first game, Rohit Sharma addressed the press in Delhi and needless to say the media had to ask him about the recent comments of veteran wicket-keeper Farookh Engineer who had commented on Anushka Sharma enjoying cups of tea during CWC 2019. Anushka Sharma Lashes Out at Farokh Engineer’s Comments About the Wife of the Indian Cricket Captain Enjoying a Cup of Tea During CWC 2019. 

During an interview with a leading daily the former Indian cricketer also labelled the selection committee as Mickey Mouse committee. “I didn't even know one of the selectors during the World Cup and I asked him who the hell he was because he was wearing the India blazer and he said he was one of the selectors. All they were doing was getting Anushka Sharma (Kohli's wife) cups of tea,” he had said. Now Rohit Sharma refused to comment on the issue and said that he cannot get into Farookh Engineer’s head to know why the comment was made.

Post this comment by the veteran cricketer, Anushka Sharma came out clean and lashed out at Farookh Engineer and said that she drinks coffee and not tea. She also said that if someone wishes to comment on the selection committee they might as well can but her name shouldn’t be brought up. Post this, Engineer said that he had jested about Anushka and the statement was blown out of proportion.
