At first, the on-field umpire gave Rohit not out. However, West Indies opted for DRS (Decision Review System) and the third umpire ruled the right-handed batsman caught behind. Interestingly, Indian fans felt that the decision was against Rohit and the batsman should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Especially when he was given not out by the on-field umpire. Now the Indian opener himself has responded to the controversial decision. Rohit took to Twitter and shared a collage of images which shows ball clearly missing his bat and hitting the pad. India were eventually restricted to 268 for seven in their allotted 50 overs with Kohli scoring 72 and MS Dhoni finishing unbeaten on 56.
In response, West Indies were bundled out for 143 runs with Mohammad Shami taking 4/16. India, following the victory, moved to second place on the ICC CWC 2019 points table with 11 points and are just one win away from booking their place in the semi-finals.
