The right-handed batsman needed 35 runs at the start of the innings to go past Guptill as the highest run-scorer in T20Is. Interestingly, Rohit also completed the feat of 100 sixes in T20Is. The 30-year-old batsman has scored four centuries in T20Is, the most in game’s shortest format. Rohit, however, was dismissed on an individual score of 50 by Sodhi. It was his 20th fifty-plus score in T20Is, the most in the world.

Rohit now tops the list with 2288 runs from 92 matches while Guptill has now dropped to second with 2272 runs from 76 matches. Pakistan’s experienced batsman Shoaib Malik is at number three with 2263 runs from 111 matches. India’s regular captain Virat Kohli is at number four with 2167 runs from 65 matches. Former New Zealand opener Brendon McCullum completes the top five with 2140 runs from 71 matches.
