Veteran Indian opener Rohit Sharma is likely to travel Australia with the Indian team on November 12 after the conclusion of Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Rohit, who sustained a hamstring injury in the on-going IPL 2020, was omitted for India's tour of Australia due to his fitness concerns. However, fans got some glimpse of hope of seeing Hitman back in Indian colours as the Mumbai Indians skipper made a comeback against Sunrisers Hyderabad last week. Although any official news is yet to come, some reports suggest that the 33-year-old is set to take the chartered flight to Australia alongside the Indian team. Rohit Sharma Being Fit and Available is Best News for Indian Cricket, Says Sunil Gavaskar.

"A decision will be taken soon in this regard. It's only fair that Rohit stays with the team and does his strength and conditioning work under physio Nitin Patel and trainer Nick Webb. Let's see how it goes," a BCCI official was quoted as per saying by PTI. ‘Looks Like I Am Fit and Fine,’ Says Mumbai Indians Captain After Returning to Action Against SRH.

India are scheduled to play three T20Is, three ODIs and four Tests respectively in the full-fledged tour, starting from November 27. It indeed will be a tricky situation for the Indian cricket team as KL Rahul was named the vice-captain of the white-ball teams with Rohit not being in the initial squad. Hence, it will be interesting to see if Rohit will be reinstated as Virat Kohli's deputy or the wicket-keeper batsman will hold the position.

Meanwhile, India have pleasant memories of their last visit down under. They managed to seize a 1-1 tie in the T20I series while they registered comprehensive 2-1 triumphs in Test and ODI series. However, dashing duo Steve Smith and David Warner didn't participate in that series due to their ban, and hence, the home side is expected to possess a greater challenge.
