Rohit Sharma suffered a set back in batting while leading the Indian team (Board President's XI) in the 3-day practice match against South Africa. Sharma is leading the Indian team- Board Presidents XI- in the practice match, which is being played ahead of the three-match Test series. Under Sharma, many youngsters like Mayank Agarwal, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Karun Nair, Siddhesh Lad are part of the Indian side. With a brilliant century by Aiden Markram (100), South Africa were able to put up 279/6 on the scoreboard. Temba Bavuma (87*) also played a spectacular knock. Vernon Philander was another batsman who performance greatly with the bat (48). The Proteas declared their batting at 279/6 in the 1st innings.
Meanwhile, the match was affected by bad light multiple times on the 1st and 2nd day and had to be stopped. Today is the third and final day of the match and the match will probably end in a draw.
