Rohit Sharma is surely the man of the movement as he brought up a fighting half-century today on day 1 of the third Test match. After being criticized severely for the lack of performance in the second Test match for his poor performance, Sharma had a lot at stake in the third game.  Back then he had scored 14 runs. Cut to present. After winning the toss, India elected to bat first. It was Kagiso Rabada who proved to be a nightmare for the Indian batsmen in the first session of the game. Kagiso Rabada snapped the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara on a10 and zero respectively. Anrich Nortje snapped yet another wicket in the form of Virat Kohli and troubles escalated for the Indians. But despite the constant fall of wickets, Mumbai batsman Rohit Sharma held his nerves and brought up a half-century from 87 balls. Sharma notched his eighth fifty in the last nine innings. Throughout the course of his innings, the Hitman slammed eight fours and one six.

Ajinkya Rahane is supporting Sharma from the other end. The two had quite a watchful start after the fall of three wickets.  It would be interesting to see how the second session of the day pans out for both the sides. For now, the fans would want both the batsmen to stick around for a while.
