Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal bring up the highest opening stand against South Africa as they two have contributed to more than 218 runs for the first wicket on the day 2 of the 1st Test 2019 which is currently underway at the VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. The two Indian openers have surpassed Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir who had put up a 218 run stand against South Africa in 2004 at Kanpur. The two slammed 27 fours and seven sixes to reach the total. With this, the two also become they also became the seventh Indian pair to bring up a 200 plus run partnership for India. While Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag still lead the list for jointly contributing 410 runs for a wicket. Sharma is nearing the mark of 150 runs and the Indians continue to dominate the opponents like a boss. This is the tenth time that both Indian openers have a got a century. Last time it was Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay who brought up a century against Afghanistan in June 2018 which was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
