Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma shared an interesting photo on Instagram while standing with his West Indian friend Chris Gayle. Ahead of India vs West Indies 1st ODI in Guyana, the Indian opener shared the photo which reveals an important similarity between both the cricketers. India and West Indies will play the first ODI today, August 8 in Guyana. In the photo, both Sharma and Gayle can be seen standing wearing their national jerseys while facing their backs on the camera. The same jersey no. of both the openers, 45, is visible in the photo. It looks like Sharma wants to convey this fact to the cricket fans that he and West Indian legend share the same jersey. Besides the jerseys, both the attacking batsmen also have some other similarities. Both are opener batsman and prefers the same batting spot in every match they play. Both are also famous for hitting big sixes in cricket. Sharma and Gayle are the leading batsmen with the most number of sixes in T20 internationals. Both the cricketers have hit a double century in ODIs. Both also account for some high scores in cricket. Rohit Sharma has hit 264 runs in ODI, which is the highest individual score in ODIs. Gayle has hit a 175-run knock in IPL 2018, which is the highest individual score in IPL so far. However, while Chris Gayle is a left-handed batsman and bowler, Sharma is a right-handed player.

Meanwhile, India is taking on West Indies in the first ODI on Thursday. The match will be played at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Two more ODIs will be played in the series. Post that, two Test matches between both the teams will be played. India outplayed West Indies in the T20I series 3-0.
