The Indian women's cricket team might have lost the T20I against New Zealand brutally by 3-0, but the team's opening duo Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana have impressed everyone with their consistent knocks throughout the tournament. Rodrigues’s 132 runs in the three-match series against New Zealand have lifted her four places to the second position while Smriti Mandhana, who grabbed the top spot in ODIs last week, has gained four spots to reach the sixth position after finishing as the leading run-getter in the series with an aggregate of 180. The stylish left-hander smashed two half-centuries including a fluent 86 in the last match in Hamilton that India lost by two runs. Not only the batswoman, but also the India spinners Radha Yadav and Deepti Shama's rankings have gone up considerably. While Radha Yadav climbed 18 positions and now features on number 10 of the ICC Rankings table. Deepti Sharma rose up by five spots and now is placed on number 14. Talking about Women's T20I Team Rankings, the Indians continue to stay on number five despite the loss against New Zealand.
New Zealand's Sophie Devine also moved to number eight from 11 after making 153 runs. This also includes her match-winning knock of 72 runs in the third T20I. Kiwi captain Amy Satterthwaite’s 87 runs have lifted her from 23rd to 17th position.
