India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant scored his maiden Test century during the final day of the fifth and last Test against England at the Oval. Pant came in to bat at fall of Hanuma Vihari’s wicket with India’s score reading 121 for five. The left-handed batsman shared a mammoth partnership with KL Rahul, who earlier in the day notched his fifth Test century. Pant, who made his debut in third India vs England Test, scored 24 and one in his first Test. In his second Test, the wicketkeeper-batsman was dismissed for a duck in the first innings and scored 18 in the second innings.

In the first innings of the Oval Test, Pant could manage only five runs. The youngster didn’t have a great series behind the stumps as well. He dropped few catches and was at times sloppy with his glove work. Meanwhile, Adil Rashid ended the impressive stand of 204 runs for the sixth wicket between Rahul and Pant after he removed the former. Rahul was dismissed on an individual score of 149.
