Rishabh Pant once again threw off a good start to keep India reeling at 71/5 after 23 overs during the India vs New Zealand semi-final encounter at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on Wednesday. His dismissal after showing enough signs of scoring big left fans disappointed. Many questioned his immaturity once again. Pant was caught at midwicket by Colin de Grandhomme from the bowling off Mitchell Santer while trying to slog the spinner for a maximum. This, however, isn't the first time that he has been dismissed in such a manner. Many times in the past his maturity has been questioned for giving away similar starts.

The left-hander, who arrived at the crease after KL Rahul's dismissal in the third over of the Indian innings looked in good touch during his 56-ball 32 to rescue India from a precarious situation. His innings, which comprised of four boundaries, was full of elegance and class but the left-hander once again was dismissed trying a shot too many. Earlier, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja showed tremendous fielding skills as India restricted New Zealand to 239/8 in 50 overs after skipper Kane Williamson had won the toss and opted to bast first. The game originally to be played on Tuesday had to be postponed to a reserve day after incessant rainfall and poor play conditions prevented the game from taking place.
