MS Dhoni once again showed why he is one of the best finishers around. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain slammed unbeaten 70 off just 34 balls as his side beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by five wickets in match 24 of IPL 2018. With it, CSK now overtakes Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on the IPL 2018 points table. Besides Dhoni, it was Ambati Rayudu who contributed significantly to team’s success. RCB vs CSK Full Scorecard

In their chase of 206, CSK at one stage were 74 for four. Rayudu and Dhoni then joined forces and bailed CSK out of trouble. The duo batted sensibly against Yuzvendra Chahal, who returned figures of 2/26 in his quota of four overs. And once his spell was over, both Dhoni and Rayudu started to attack RCB bowlers. The duo added the 101-run stand for the fifth wicket before Rayudu was run-out. The right-hander scored 82 off just 53 balls and slammed three fours and eight sixes during his stay. After Rayudu’s dismissal, Dhoni kept going and along with Dwayne Bravo finished things in style for CSK.

Dhoni after the match said the wicket was not easy to bat on and appreciated AB de Villiers as well. “I thought when we had the innings this was difficult to chase because when I was keeping, AB batted well and it was tough to score. The key for us was the two left-handers but we lost them early. This was a slightly slowish wicket and that's why AB's knock was special. It wasn't an easy wicket, credit to him. Happy that people are chipping in for us,” Dhoni said during the post-match presentation.

Earlier, out to bat RCB posted 205 for eight after AB de Villiers’ 30-ball 68. Apart from him Quinton de Kock and Mandeep Singh chipped with 53 and 32 respectively. For CSK, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, and Bravo picked two wickets each.
