Ravindra Jadeja played the innings of his life during the India vs New Zealand match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. However, the left-handed batsman and all-rounder failed to take the team across the line in the semi-final. But his performance was lauded by one and all.

The controversy erupted when the former cricketer and commentator was asked about all-rounder's selection, he had replied “I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players, which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket.
