Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin Sweat It Out During Nets Session: Will the Spin Duo Be Able to Weave Their Magic in India vs England Test Series?

Out of flavour (and the Indian team), Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were seen bowling at the nets session ahead of their tour match against Essex. The three-day match will begin from July 25. Both the spinners would be looking forward to bring their A game in the five-match Test series against England.

The spin duo, Ashwin and Jadeja, were the mainstay in India’s line-up for both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches; however, since Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have made their debuts in the team, the duo has failed to make it into the ODI team.

As the team management has now decided to add Kuldeep Yadav in the Test squad, Ashwin and Jadeja will not only have to face a threat from the English team, but a dip in their form would see Yadav drafted to the first-choice eleven list in no time.

The England team failed to pick up Yadav’s spin during the recently concluded T20I and ODI series, in which the Indian team won and lost respectively. Captain Virat Kohli is known to field different sides consecutively in the Test matches. Will Jadeja and Ashwin be able to manage their spot in the team is for the Indian team management to decide!

However, the Indian team would be banking heavily on their success for the team to succeed in English conditions. A lot would depend on how the duo performs in the number of opportunities they are presented with. Ravindra Jadeja is on the third spot, while Ravichandran Ashwin is on the fifth spot in the latest ICC Test Bowler’s rankings.
