India won its maiden Test series in Australia on Monday, and all hell broke loose in the form of celebrations. It is the first time that the Indian team has won a Test series Down Under and the happiness on the captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri’s gave it all away. So much so that the duo was trolled on social media for their absurd statements after the match. Both Kohli and Shastri said that the Test series win in Australia was a more significant moment for them than the World Cup-winning moment.

The head coach of the Indian team, Ravi Shastri said, “I will tell you how satisfying this is for me. World Cup 1983, World Championship 1985...this is as big or even bigger because this is in the truest format of the game that is Test cricket.”

Here's what Ravi Shastri said after India's historic win in Australia:

On the other hand, skipper Kohli said, “I was part of 2011 World Cup team, but I didn't have the emotion of not having been able to win a World Cup before… Yes, it was a great moment for me, but if you ask me which moment is more emotional, I would say this one because this is my third tour here and I have seen how difficult it is to win here.” Ravi Shastri Heaps Praises on Virat Kohli, Says ‘I Salute My Captain’

Kohli further added, “So, from that point of view this one is more emotional for me. It will definitely be more special, purely because of the fact that we really wanted to win a series away from home.” Indian Cricket Team Scripts History, Registers First Ever Test Series Win in Australia.
