Afghanistan import in Adelaide Strikers team Rashid Khan was seen flaunting a new bat during the Big Bash League 2019-20 (BBL) match against defending champions Melbourne Renegades. The unique bat, known as “The Camel” had two humps on the back, just like the Bactrian camel; thus the name. The front side of the bat has no change and looks similar to the regular ones. Former Australian opening batsman Mathew Hayden had introduced ‘Moongoose bat’ in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but that bat was totally different in size, unlike the camel bat.

The ‘Camel Bat’ did work for Rashid Khan as he scored 25 off just 16 balls while batting at number five. The Afghanistan cricketer smashed two fours and as many sixes during his stay at the crease. In response, Melbourne Renegades managed to score only 137 for eight and lost the match by 18 runs. Khan was mighty impressive with the ball as he scalped 2/15 in his four overs. Apart from his contribution with the bat and ball, Khan also inflicted a run-out.
