Cricket's leading governing body, The International Cricket Council (ICC), has issued a statement regarding actor Ranveer Singh's presence and access to the players and officials of the match during the India vs Pakistan match. The ICC said that Ranveer did not break any law and certainly did not "trespass". ICC Anti-Corruption Minimum Standards for Players and Match Officials Areas (PMOA).
An ICC official statement read, “Ranveer Singh was accredited by Star as he presented with them and as such had on-field accreditation. Where he spoke to the player was in that zone and not PMOA.” Ranveer Singh was in Manchester for commentary purpose during the India vs Pakistan match, said ICC in its statement. Ranveer was seen cheering for India, talking to Indian captain Virat Kohli, Mohammad Shami and Shikhar Dhawan. The actor was also seen consoling a Pakistani fan after the latter was dejected following Pakistan's loss to India in ICC CWC 2019. India won the 'Super Sunday' contest against Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS method) and maintained its 7-0 streak against the arch rivals Pakistan in the world cups.
