Playing in his last Test, Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath has become only the third player in the history of Test cricket to bag 100 wickets at the single venue. At the start of the first Test between Sri Lanka and England, the veteran spinner was just one wicket away from scalping record 100 wickets at the Galle International Stadium. Herath completed the feat as he bowled England captain Joe Root during the first session on Day one of the Galle Test. SL vs ENG 1st Test 2018 Live Score Updates

Herath, who is playing his 93rd Test match, now joins compatriot Muttiah Muralitharan and England's James Anderson to have achieved the feat. Muralitharan has picked 100 or more wickets at three different venues (Galle, SSC, and Kandy) while Anderson in August this year against India achieved the feat at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Live Cricket Streaming of Sri Lanka vs England 2018: Check Live Cricket Score, Watch Free Telecast of SL vs ENG 1st Test Match at Galle on TV & Online

Herath, who made his debut back in 1999, ahead of Sri Lanka vs England Test series announced that the first game of the series will be his final. Meanwhile, Herath has a good chance of surpassing England’s Stuart Broad and India’s Kapil Dev on the most wickets in Tests list.

The Sri Lanka spinner is currently tied at ninth spot with New Zealand’s Richard Hadlee with 431 wickets in his kitty. The 40-year-old spinner has represented Sri Lanka in 71 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 17 T20Is. His last outing in the ODIs was in 2015 against England during the ICC Cricket World Cup. In T20Is, his last match was against South Africa during the ICC World T20 2016. England tour of Sri Lanka, 2018 – Schedule & Results

While Herath had a superlative Test career, in ODIs and T20Is he managed to pick only 74 and 18 wickets. In Tests, Herath is the third bowler with most 10-wicket hauls in Test cricket, behind Muralitharan and Shane Warne.
