Ramesh Powar Appointed as Head Coach of Indian Women’s Cricket Team Till World T20 2018

Ramesh Powar has been appointed as head coach of Indian women’s cricket team. Powar’s appointment has been made till the Women's T20 World 2018 which is scheduled to be held in West Indies in November. "The BCCI has appointed Mr. Ramesh Powar as Head Coach of the Indian Women’s Team. Mr. Powar has now been handed over full-time duties till 30th November 2018,” read BCCI’s press release.

“His term will include the tour to Sri Lanka in September, a bilateral series in West Indies in October followed by the ICC Women’s World T20 in West Indies in November,” the release added.

The former Indian cricket was managing the side on an interim basis following Tushar Arothe’s resignation. The 40-year-old managed team's camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore as well.

Powar was recently in Australia and completed the Level III course in coaching. He has no previous experience of coaching. Apart from World T20, Powar’s assignments with the Indian women’s team includes the tours to Sri Lanka in September and a bilateral series in West Indies in October.
