Samit Dravid, son of the Indian cricketing legend Rahul Dravid, ensured that his team ended on the winning side with his splendid all-round performance in an Under-14 match of Cottonian Shield, on Thursday. The Shield match which was played in Bangalore, saw the 12-year-old boy hit a spectacular half-century and snare three wickets in the match.
Samit’s score of 51 runs in the first innings and bowling figures of 3/9 helped his team defeat their opponents comprehensively. It was because of his all-round performance, his school Aditi International School was able to beat Cambridge Public School by 9-wickets.
Following the footsteps of his father, Samit has played a lot of match-winning innings for his respective teams. Earlier this year, in January, he scored a scintillating century in a winning cause, in a BTW Cup (U-14 Tournament) match. His consistent performances have seen him being one of the top scorers for his school for a few years now.
In a parallel world, Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun is also taking significant strides in cricket. He recently debuted for the Indian team and played his first Youth Test match which the Indian team won an inning and 21 runs.
